Yaw and I met while I was touring Ghana in June 2006. He was actually one of our tour coordinators and I was totally oblivous to the fact that he was interested in me. He finally got enough nerve to find a way to give me his phone number and email address without making it obvious he was hitting on me. I called him the last night of my trip (Yes, I had to call him!! He was too chicken!!!) and we had a lovely time in the streets of Accra under the beautiful African moon. I returned to Italy (where I'm stationed in the military) and spent two days feeling miserable because I had not received an email from him. So even after I decided that I wouldn't call, I called him at 4:30 in the morning only to find out he had emailed me twice and was concerned because I didn't reply (He had mistakenly misspelled my email address). We've spoken EVERYDAY since then. I traveled back to Ghana in August 2006 and again in January 2007 when we officially announced our engagement!! We celebrated our traditional Ghanaian engagement in Accra, Ghana on August 11, 2007 and were offically married in Atlanta, Georgia on October 21, 2007!!
