  1. I have heard that Irving occasionally does same day oath but it was not the case for any of my parents. One had their oath scheduled one week later at the Plano Events Center. The other had their oath scheduled just over two weeks later in Irving, same office where they had their interview. The oath ceremony in the Irving field office was much faster than the one in Plano, but no guest is allowed inside the Irving building. In Plano you can bring your family and friends inside. Hope this helps!
  2. And now both my parents are done with their immigration journey. My August filer parent just had their oath today at the Irving field office. Short and sweet, quite unceremonious but it was smooth and they are glad to be done! All the best to anyone still in the middle of their journey 🇺🇸
  3. Parent passed their interview today. They had to wait for about an hour or so before being called, actual interview lasted ~10 minutes. Status now says they have been placed in line for an oath ceremony. Good luck to all August filers!
  4. Interview scheduled for my parent! Filed 8/1, family-based. Dallas FO. Interview date 10/23 🎉
  5. Oh no! You have been waiting for so long, I hope you can reschedule without issues or perhaps you can reschedule your flight without penalty? 😕
  6. My GC was EB based 5-year but I was divorced and I provided a copy of my divorce decree in my paper application (I naturalized before online processing was available) and also brought a copy of decree at interview. I assume that with online filing it’ll be ok to just bring a copy at the interview.
  7. As OldUser said, it can actually save some time for some applicants (I know not everyone has a fast process). One of my parents applied 90 days before their 5th year anniversary. Well, they became a citizen on their 5th year anniversary, so in that case it helped as they were done much earlier than if they had sent the application past their 5th year anniversary. Again, I know not everyone benefits from it (I applied early too, 5-year rule, and it took me 14 months to become a citizen 😆)
  8. Not in my indirect experience. I know two family members whose interviews were scheduled days before their anniversary date. Their case was not denied and, like @OldUser said, they just had to wait until the anniversary for their oath.
  9. No, case does not get denied. The immigration officer can’t approve the case just yet, and the oath will of course have to be scheduled after the 5 year anniversary date. I know people who got scheduled interviews just before the anniversary date. Their case was not denied.
  10. My parent also shows 4 months’ waiting time now. The day they filed (8/1) it was showing 7 months I believe.
  11. It’s definitely just one answer needed.
  12. I don’t recall doing that (I filed 2017) I just filled in the table and added an additional sheet because I also had a lot of int’l travel. I brought my passports (current and expired) at the interview with me just in case the officer wanted to see the stamps but he isn’t ask.
  13. Loved your interview story! If it helps and gives you some hope in terms of timelines, my parents filed from Dallas and the process for one of them was just 3 months on the dot (and they were early filers) 4/25 submitted, 7/25 oath. The other just filed yesterday. Theirs is a 5-year application though.
  14. I don’t personally have experience rescheduling interviews but read on this forum that some people were able to reschedule an interview without issues 👍 my other parent filed 4/25 and interviewed 7/18 (oath one week later 7/25) if that helps in any way in terms of timeline. If the timeline is similar you shouldn’t get your interview before November but I would wait mid-month maybe just to be sure.
