Update my color! Finally my journey was over.
a few notes for the oath ceremony at 225 cadman plaza east.
- my appointment is at 8:30am, i got there at 8, already a long line. However, they processed one by one, so even if you come early, you still have to wait.
- bring a pen
- bring 2 copy of passport photos just in case, there were few people for some whatever reason they asked for it, and they have to go out to take a photo
- rumor said, because uscis couldnt locate applicant picture, so they will ask for it, to put on the certificate (they used the photo they took on biometric day for me)
- they said you have to update your social security profile, but wait 3 weeks before the 2 systems can be updated. but i went to update my profile anyway, social security worker didnt say anything
- the process was: went through sec line, turned in your phone, sit on court room, people with special requests got called the name first (missing photo, missing paperwork, some got sent home/uscis office etc), and then "normal" got up row by row to review our letter and confirmed info on our naturalization certificate, while we were waiting for IO update info for the error/people changing their name, they asked us to fill a form to register to vote, the judge came in to witness us taking the oath of allegiance, then he gave a speech, and then we got up row by row again to receive our certificate and left the room, over!
- it was total of 254 or 251 people that day court room is not big enough so none of families and friends got to witness anything
- i got out at 11:45 (was half of the room behind me), overall was a long long waiting period
It took me 1 year 1 month and 7 days to complete the N400 by paper filling (no REF or whatsoever)

So i had my interview yesterday day at Federal Plaza. room 8-800
The IO was very nice, polite and all business like. So no outside jokes nor depressing times.
My appointment was at 10, i came at 9, security line was very long but moving quick, Sec guys were rude af
I reached to the room and finished my check in around 9:30, got called in shortly and done everything at 9:54.
So the interview was very very short and simple
She sworn me in. Proceeded right away with the tests, and then go through my application.
Asked for my passport, green card and 2 copy of my passport photos (thanks so much to @chungwai79), she did take my finger prints and photo at her office.
I applied through 3 years rule, she just asked if i still married and lived together.
Asked me if i were travel, when was the last time. I did travel outside US in January for 2 weeks, it was not in application so she took notes on it.
And then she show me the paper of info will show on my naturalization card, told me to check if there is any problem, then signed on it. She told me my oath will be scheduled in Brooklyn
Lastly, she show me the receipt of today interview, my case was "cant not make decision yet"
She told me the decision letter will come within 2 - 12 weeks, give them a call if I sill not receiving it after
She walked me out, that's all. Happened so fast that i didnt even have a chance to give her my new tax return, tax payment, banks and other updated paperwork. Or asked why i were not approved.
My case was frankly simple, had no problem prior application, so i guess because i traveled during application pending they need additional background check since last time was in July when i did my biometrics screening.
Hopefully will hear something soon. Below are the English test questions

@chungwai79 oh they asked for passport photo? i didnt know that, i thought it was optional, did you have your interview at Federal Plaza? I have my interview on Wednesday ....

It has been impossible to get either of those. The Federal Plaza building in NYC never has any appointments and when I call the general 1800 and ask for a Tier 2 agent, they put me in a callback line of 5+ hours plus and after accepting it I never get a callback. I wonder if I should keep trying to secure both or if I should stop once I get either to happen.
My case is in some kind of limbo after the interview. The officer was startled by my background (lots of traveling around + 10 months on an MBA course overseas) and couldn't make a decision before doing more background checking. He told me they have 120 days to decide but that most of the time they do so around 4-6 weeks after the interview, which has passed already.
2) Is there another number that I could call to get a hold of a tier 2 agent? (case is in NYC)

Bonus for those still waiting, here goes my timeline:
I applied using the 5-year rule
Priority date: June 21st, 2017
Biometrics: July 28th, 2017 (I missed it but just showed up on the next day and nobody said anything)
In-line for interview: August 18th, 2017
Interview: March 8th, 2018
Try to schedule infopass at midnight. You always has a chance for the next 2 weeks appointment. Since they only allow schedule in advance for 2 weeks.
I always able to get infopass at federal plaza, be fast thou, 2 mins late and they are all gone
, it'####### and miss there, you might able to get tier 2 agent, aka supervisor if your case is serious enough.

It was funny. I asked why my friend did online filing and he finished in like 4 months. while i am filling papers and took way too long. The agent at info pass told me "it's normal, people are waiting for years now" lol, literally has no words to say.

Hi, i've been reading this topic for awhile but never join.
Just want to share with you all that today my ROC was approved (notified by email), online status changed to Card/Document Production
Receipt date 06/23/2017, filed at Vermont, no RFE
It was along way, i called 2 weeks ago and was told my case was assigned, i did place an online inquiry last week (out of frustration) and did infopass on Monday for the stamp (got it)
I filed for N400 last week also
