I got an update today that "oath ceremony notice was mailed"

i checked my account online, still no pdf.

    Luaytm

I also got the notice on 7/13 - about 3 months after interview. Notice came in ELIS on 7/14.

My oath is in San Antonio on 8/24 at 8 AM. Looks like both of us got scheduled on the same day.

My wife went to interview the same day as me but her oath hasn't been scheduled yet.

This whole process is driving me crazy. I really don't understand why is it taking long to be scheduled for the oath especially for IOE case holder.

Here is a December filer who had his interview today and got scheduled for the oath right away.

I think the case you are quoting here (trackit) is a spouse of military personnel. They do get faster processing as they are a different category.

I think our cases, which were paper applications converted to online "IOE" applications (from Apr - August 2016) have been one of the biggest screw-ups by USCIS, though they refuse to accept it. The main theory is that only few officers in any field office knew how to operate the ELIS system. On top of it, background checks to FBI were done with incomplete names, as part of the names were cut in the process, so they repeated the background checks for many IOE applicants - this is like - whaaat?  If that is the case, why even roll out a new system - right? Well, count on USCIS to deliver this crazy experiment.

I think San Antonio is one of the slowest FO, though Houston, Dallas and St Paul, Minnesota have been even slower according to posters here.

I don't think calling USCIS or even filing a service request helps, so I have stopped doing that (see my post above, 3 posts above this one).

I know it is frustrating, but I suggest you stop worrying about it as nothing can be done with the incompetent bureaucracy at USCIS. We should just let it take it's course

and we should eventually be scheduled for oath.

We personally missed the deadline by a couple of weeks, as I know for sure that by first week of Sep, all paper applications were processed as "NBC" and they stopped IOE. We are among the last batch of IOE (our luck, right?). My friend who applied in Sep 1st week got his citizenship in Feb (he is in Austin and processed by San Antonio FO through NBC).

I think December cases are getting the oath this week (6/29 in Austin). It is totally unfair, but looks like we have to wait it out.

@bkthandri - I got the same notification the day before my oath ceremony so I called the USCIS and talk to Tier 2 and he mentioned to me that they run the background checking until the day before of Oath Ceremony and this is for the background check run they did on my case. I think that's what it is for you guys too but you can always call USCIS and talk to Tier 2 to clarify the email you had received.

Thanks for clarifying. At this point, I don't care what the status of my application is. I am done calling the incompetent and arrogant folks at USCIS.

If it moves, it moves. Me and my wife were discussing it would have been far better value if we had upgraded our TV to a nice OLED set instead of this farce of N400 application process. I had applied for my green card myself through EB-1 and that was much faster than N400!

Oh well, thanks for your post.

Have you been scheduled for oath?

    I am still waiting...

No. But I got this strange e-mail (looks like automated?)  for both me and my wife :

    "

There are no updates at this time

We are still reviewing your case and there are no updates at this time. We will notify you when your case status changes. We last took action on your case on April 14, 2017.

    "

I am traveling last week of July till mid August, so I hope this goes on longer. April 14 was my interview date. Status says "Oath ceremony will be scheduled" in both ELIS and egov website.

I am based in Austin too.

I had my interview April 13th, and my status did not change until yesterday. I got this message that I am in line for the oath ceremony. I wonder how much longer are we going to wait! It is taking forever :(

Hearing about all these same day oath ceremonies and San Antonio hasn't even scheduled us after 2 months of interview which was approved - this is ridiculous..

Yes, I think we are in for a long wait. If we get oath ceremonies in Austin, the next one is on 9/27 (3 months later). There is one oath ceremony each in San Antonio

during July and August. Since it is already mid-June, we are looking at July 27th or later for oath ceremony. I am going to be out of country by end of July, so might be

more delay for me. I just can't wait for this to be over.

(info from Western District of Texas )

The next three ceremonies in Austin are:

June 17th @ Bob Bullock Museum

    June 29th @ Delco Center

    September 27th @ Delco Center

The next three ceremonies in San Antonio are:

June 22nd @ Institute of Texan Cultures

July 27th @ Institute of Texan Cultures

    Aug 24th Edgewood High School

Anyone else is having this status for a while?

    Luaytm

I have the same status (my wife too) since Apr 14 - Oath ceremony will be scheduled.

Mine is IOE case with San Antonio as FO, same as you. My interview was a day after you.

    My PD was 8/22/16.

I am based in Austin and I was expecting to get the 6/29 oath , but I don't think that will be the case.

In for a longer wait - not sure why I applied in August - cursing myself. Those who applied in Dec (NBC) are

    getting their oath on 6/29.

    Howdy!

reading about your friend sucks. This waiting is terrible and i dont know if something is wrong or not so he must feel much worse being almost a month earlier. Why can't it just be first come for serve...

    Howdy

Yes, It is too long a wait. But I applied for N400 in Aug 2016 and he applied in Nov 2016.

It has been more than nine months since I filed my N400 :). Other friends who applied 2 weeks after me in Sep 2016 became citizens in March 17.

They were all NBC, I got stuck with IOE.

Here are some of the future naturalization dates  (Info from the Western District of Texas).

The next three ceremonies in Austin are:

June 17th @ Bob Bullock Museum

    June 29th @ Delco Center

    September 27th @ Delco Center

The next three ceremonies in San Antonio are:

June 22nd @ Institute of Texan Cultures

July 27th @ Institute of Texan Cultures

    Aug 24th Edgewood High School

the above are oath administered by judges. There are other administrative oaths in San Antonio - don't know schedules for that.

I know there is one tomorrow (May 31) in the same place where the N400 interviews take place.

just saw on another site that someone who interviewed on 4/10 had their status changed on the 24th, got their letter on the 27th...

    Hi

I am  from Austin. I had my interview on 4/14 in San Antonio. My status changed to oath ceremony will be scheduled on 4/14 (IOE case status changes the same day - my case was IOE, not NBC, in fact it changed while I was at the USCIS center, waiting for my wife's interview to complete).

I am also still waiting (my wife has the same status, interviews on the same date).

My friend from Austin , who went for interview on 3/10 has the same status (80 day wait). He, however is an NBC case.

However, some people in San Antonio have had their oath within a month (you can check in the trackitt tracker, like you mentioned).

    There is no definite pattern.

BTW, I filed my N400 in Aug 2016, and one of the unlucky ones to be caught in the USCIS "IOE" screw-up...

I am an Aggie as well, graduated in 2006 (long timeago) :)
