My foreign fiance and I are about ready to send our K1 application/i-129f!!! Before I send I had some confusion about something and hoping someone here can help me.
I am living in France where my fiance and I met but I am here on a student visa and my permanent address is in Hawaii with my parents. I think it's a bit confusing through out my app since in my mailing address it says our P.O Box in Hawaii and for my current address it says paris (i think this is important as it shows i live where we met and have for a while). No where does it say my permanent residence address in Hawaii and I really don't see a place for that on the form. I wanted to include something like this at the end of the cover letter. Is this appropriate/necessary? is there a better place for it?
My fiancée and I met in Paris, where I am living on a student visa with a host family. However, my permanent residence is in Hawaii where my parents live at [insert my permanent residence here]. Because we do not receive mail to our house I have included my family’s P.O Box as my mailing address. No mail should be sent to my address in France as I will be leaving in July. My fiancée and I plan to live in NY together if our application is accepted.
Is this confusing? Any tips would be greatly appreciated thanks!
Fiance being deported after we've sent visa application!
in K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedures
Posted
My fiance is vietnamese but has been living in France for the past 5 years with a student visa. Literally the day after we sent the visa he received a letter saying that he has 30 days to leave the country because he has not been taking his studies seriously (he's had some family issues and financial problems this past year which has made his studies not a priority but he's still been paying for school and taking exams). He's now in the process of protesting this which means he will have a 6 month extension on his deportation since it is now a case file, but I'm wondering will this affect our visa application? Do we need to send a letter to the USCIS explaining the situation? Since he lives here everything will go through the american embassy in France and they'll see right away that he's being deported. We had NO idea this was going to happen when we sent out the visa application but now I'm worried it will look like that's why we're applying. I'm not sure if anyone has dealt with this but any advice would be much appreciated. Thank you.
