Passed my naturalization interview. The fire alarm went off while waiting to be called in so everyone in the building had to go through security twice, and standing outside in the 100+ degree Phoenix heat with 40% humidity waiting for the fire department to review and resolve was not fun. The gentleman who interviewed me was very nice, turned out we had worked for the same company in the past. He was training someone so as he explained every step to her as we went through the motions it was very revealing to me for instance he told her "the reason we ask for multiple forms of identification is to make sure the legal name matches everywhere". I did the read/write test and got the first 6 questions correct then he went through the yes/no questions. In all the interview lasted about 20 min. In the end he told her "in a straight forward interview like this just check all these boxes", which I guessed is a good thing . He never checked any of the originals so I didn't even have to open my file. He handed me the letter that said I was approved along with the passport application and walked me out, such a great experience!!

Apparently, there's an oath ceremony every Friday at the courthouse in downtown Phoenix and he said they're scheduling 4-6 weeks out so I should hear back on the date in about a month. Almost there!

Not quite. The "September Rule" allows USCIS officers to deny incomplete applications, that in the past would need an RFE, without giving a reason. They can still ask for a RFE but given the current administrations's trend the concern is they're going to deny it straightaway.

Got an email from ELIS this morning got me all excited,  "
USCIS has taken action on your application, petition or request and updated your account.  Please access your account to view the update."

When I logged in it still only showed the status of biometrics completed 🤨, is there a delay between the email and online status update? Hope it's not a RFE.

I mailed in my application yet they opened an online account for me and my receipt # is IOE, so it seems like that's how USCIS is trying to process all or most naturalization applications irrespective of how they're submitted. Big assumption here.

Updating some dates. What's interesting is my  Biometric Notification shows the Service Center is NBC but the application number begins with IOE, are they not mutually exclusive?

Sent: Date N-400 was mailed to USCIS.

Fprints:  Date assigned for fingerprinting (Bio-metrics). If you do your biometrics via walk-in prior to your scheduled appointment, please enter the date in bold blue.
In Line: Date you received e-notification about the start of your interview scheduling.
Int Ltr: Date you received the official letter in the mail regarding interview.

In a few months you'll probably be switching your statement because those of us who didn't will still be waiting while you're naturalized.

7/29/16. Realized last month I'm in the wrong thread but still follow this one as It's close to Aug. Our weather is the envy of the nation during winter and that's when we have a lot of visitors in addition to the "snow birds".

Welcome to Arizona! I've lived here for 17 years, it's a beautiful place if you don't mind the heat - you have to drive a bit to see the four seasons if you live in Phoenix or Tucson which sounds like you will be.  If you need any help let me know, i lived in Tucson for almost 10 years, now in phoenix. What's funny is we're planning on moving to Seattle or Portland in the next couple of years, we're getting tired of the heat in Phoenix

I'm not quoting anyone because my post was based on the general sentiment of this thread and not picking on anyone, some of you obviously chose to make it personal, no skin off my nose. I read all the responses to my post and empathize with those to whom this is a hardship and respect everyone's right to an opinion. I'm also not affiliated with any political party, I merely say it as it is and will never apologize for that, if you feel offended that's your problem. I don't complain unless I have done something to change the situation I'm complaining about. A lot of people just complain and expect someone else to affect change and that is what i consider entitlement. Our president is not perfect and neither were any of his predecessors, they're all just human, some more mature than the rest. Trump doesn't scare me and neither should he anyone else because I think the majority of the people in this country still believe in the founding principles that makes this country great. I'm sure the people who work at USCIS are doing everything they can to do their jobs the best they can, frustration is not going to help anyone's case go any faster, then again that's my opinion. This will be the last post related to my unsolicited opinion. I'll post here if I get my 10 year green card. Good luck to you all.

Let me say this before I start, I don't mean to downplay anyone's situation or frustration, waiting can be frustrating, I've been in this great country for 17 years and finally close to getting naturalized and the process is long and frustrating at times but it's worth it and I'm proud to say I did it all the right way and legally and I don't regret any of it one bit and I don't complain because I've seen the rest of the world. People tend to forget some rights we take for granted here can get you killed in other parts of the world. I've seen this sense of entitlement getting worse over the years. Before you take to your torches and pitchforks realize no one is forcing us to become a citizen, this country doesn't owe any of us anything, we're free to go to some other country that'll treat us better. Please do not disrespect the laws and processes of the country you so desperately want to become a citizen of even before you become one. End rant.
