And in answer to your original question, just file i864 even if you qualify to use the i864a. I qualified to use the i864a but they requested the i864. I resubmitted and it got kicked back again. I called and complained that all of their information says to submit the i864a. The guy I spoke to was very nice and said to me, I know you are right but, if they asked for it you need to submit it or they will keep kicking it back. So I did and it went through. I would say that my stubbornness on that issue cost me a couple months.

What are you talking about? If you qualify, you qualify. There is no "extra super duper" qualify. You put the number of people that will be living together, at least that's what I did, I lived with to other people at the time of filing but I know once my wife and 2 children arrived we would be in a new place just the 4 of us. So I put 4 people. We stayed in a hotel the first 2 days after they arrived waiting for our new apartment to be ready to move in. It doesn't matter what your circumstances are now, and they do not care about your parents or addresses. You mention wanting to be safe and making a stronger case. You are way overthinking the process You are looking at your case at every possible angle and overthinking every part of it. This is not meant as an insult because it is human nature and almost everyone does it. Think of the thousands of cases that they go through, do you think that they are scrutinizing every nuance and detail of every single case the way that you are your own? Trust me they are not, they are looking for red flags and mostly for relationships that do not seem to be authentic. That is the only part you should concern yourself with is evidence of a bonafide relationship. Pictures and proof of constant and regular communication. That is the only thing that will make your case stronger or weaker.

Nothing that you need to do. It is best that you do it at SLEC. You are paying for the medical and everything she needs is included.

In everyone's case

Your visa should be valid up to 6 months after the 1st day of your medical. They do not start from the completion date. So if you get flagged for sputum testing you will have a smaller window.

Yes. don't even worry about it. You would not get a RFE for this. Pretend you never saw it.

I just looked at what my wife brought. It was also a divorce decree from Hawaii. It had the full terms of the divorce. No wet ink. The scan was in color as well as the print that she had done on PH. The judge and clerks stamps are in color. It was good quality print on good quality paper. No problem. This was 2 years ago though.
-
Mine never had any king of embossed stamp, or anything. It could be printed on any color printer and you would not know one from another. My wife did not have an original and no problem. If you get it to her in time, great. If you do get a 221g then just send it. I wouldn't worry about it too much.

First thing people need to realize is that not everything is like in America, if you travel a lot, you would more likely see that what it is like in the Philippines is more like the rest of the world. Most Americans are very spoiled in their thinking and expectations. Learn to embrace and accept the differences. As far as the CENOMAR, I think it's pretty consistent across the board for requiring a CENOMAR for a Filipino to get married. They need to prove that they are not currently married first. But the foreigner usually but not always needs an "Affidavit in lieu of legal capacity to marry" to show that they aree not currently married and are able to marry. The need for and how to get an Affidavit in lieu of legal capacity to marry has changed so that is one reason that she must go check exactly what is required. After getting married and receiving the PSA marriage certificate, then you will order a CEMAR from PSA for both you and your wife before the interview. That will prove that you are both legally married in the Philippines, and it is required at the interview.
-
If it's a fair price, that's for you to decide. I did all the paperwork myself, asked questions here if I wasn't sure. No problems for me.
-
Nope. The Marriage Certificate is just that, a Marriage Certificate. Your fiance will most likely need the CENOMAR to get married. You will both need one before the interview. Hers will change to CEMAR and that is what you will receive also. CENOMAR = Certificate of no marriage (in the Philippines) This is why your fiance will need to get one to get married. CEMAR = Cerificate of Marriage (in the Philippines). This means that they have record of you being married in the Philippines. Another current post in here is similar to yours. Please read my post in there. It is EXTREMELY important that your fiance go to the Municipal and ask for all requirements for her to marry a foreigner. There are differences in all areas and no real consistency so if you rely on what you see on the internet you may be missing something and not be able to get married. You may also waste time running around to get things that are not even needed.

Sorry to hear this. I have had it 2x and I am also in a high risk group. It sucked but I never found it too bad. If you are still suffering with long Covid, I would recommend "Sambucol Black Elderberry Syrup - Sambucus Elderberry Syrup". It really helped me with clearing up the lingering effects (like coughing and phlegm. I just took 3 or 4 doses a day till I finished a bottle. I bought a 2-pack on Amazon. I am more of a natural supplements guy and this stuff is very highly rated on Amazon. That would be a QR code 🤣

You need to have your wife go to the local municipal building and LCR (Local Civil Registry) and ask what is EXACTLY required to marry a foreigner in her location. Make sure that she writes everything down so nothing is missed. Requirements vary all over the PH and may be wasting your time trying to get things that you don't need and missing things that you do. Please trust me on this. Next plan on a 3 week trip. It takes 10 working days (2 weeks) just to get your marriage license which allows you to get married. This is something that is consistent all across the PH. It will usually be a day or two to get everything together before you go to apply for the license and a day or 2 after to get married. 3 weeks is doable, less than that leaves no margin for error. Last bit of advice. Have her ask the LCR if there is any way to expedite the PSA marriage certificate. That is very important because you will need that to get the CR-1. They usually have a way to do that and you will pay a fee. If you do not do that you can easily wait 6 months to a year for it.

She is moving her life to USA and doesn't even have a check on bag?? I went to get my wife and 2 children. We had 7 checked bags 50 lbs each and 4 carry on bags lol.

Cutting it too close IMO

Sure you can. I would do the medical at least 3 days before interview because medical takes 2 days. However, please keep min mind that if any of them get flagged for sputum testing you will need to reschedule the interview.
-
To be clear, as @jskibo said, it is tied to the medical. But to be more clear, it is tied to the start date of your medical not the completion date. Because of this getting flagged for sputum shortens your window. If you need treatment for TB it shrinks that window more.
-
In almost all cases where they are flagged for sputum testing the person comes out negative for TB. If found to be positive you will need to go through SLEC for treatment in order to have the medical approved. Getting a second opinion is just throwing away money.
-
Second opinion for what? The only opinion that matters is St. Lukes (not loots). If people are trying to think it's a money grab, it's not. You pay 1 fee for medical. It covers sputum as well. Now they have way more work to do and they do not get any more money. I think it is due to poor equipment or poor training on how to read an x-ray. Sadly my wife was flagged and had to go through this and it really does suck. By the time she finished and we got a new interview date, her visa was set to expire a few days later. Appointments at the embassy were tough to get because it was during covid. We ended up having to do the medical again. 2nd time x-ray was fine and no sputum. Like I said, it sucks, but you will make it through.

I meant fly there for 3 weeks and get married.
-
You have 1 (practical) option. Go to PH and do a Utah Zoom wedding with her family in attendance. Have a party (reception) with all of her family and friends. The other option is get a recognition of divorce, pay lots of money to lawyer, and wait a year or 2 to complete, then fly there for 2 weeks abd get married.

Have you tried calling or emailing them?
