  1. With kids its a walk in, they might let her slide in as well but they could also say no of course.
  2. Most likely yes. It has probably already been sent to PSA in Manila. I always recommend requesting expedite at the time it is submitted. If not it will take 5-6 months.
  3. Yes, I was lucky. I understand completely. It's worth it to keep trying. Good thing you are starting early. Just understand things move very slowly over there and expecting them to be more like America will only lead to frustration and stress.
  4. Yes, have her go to the LCR and inquire if they have transmitted the new one to them. If not she can request that they do. You have about a 50% chance or less that a birth certificate is 100% accurate. My wife's BC had her listed as a male and her mothers age as 45 lol. I had it changed. I paid a family friend (of hers) 2500 PHP who had a lot of contacts to get it done. Best money ever spent. Even 1 of our sons has my nationality as "Filipino" on his certificate. I even told my sister in law to triple check everything before submitting knowing how messed up it is there.
  5. I think you are very far removed from Philippine culture and are expecting it to be like America. Trust me this will be a very big problem for you in the future and in your relationship if you do not change your thinking. In the Philippines you do not make waves and you need to be very tactful about getting things done. It can be difficult to get things done and may require a lot of navigation, and must always be done in a friendly manner with a smile. PSA is the official document that is accepted. It may just have a copy of the original LCR certificate, but it has the magic PSA paper and stamp which makes it official. When I ordered a new BC in CA, I received the same type of official document from CA Dept of Health with a scan of my original. Unless she is well connected to and politician, she will get no help from contacting them. Only making waves (see above).
  6. I hope I don't catch flack for this but another thing about Philippine culture...They love to worry.🤣 Oh yeah, and you can call her your fiance
  7. I take it that you are new to Philippine culture and customs. First warning, there is nothing consistent and everything is up for interpretation. All CFO officers are different and 1 may approve while another would give you a hard time. Don't sweat it too much. In the end I don't recall anyone saying that they were denied, the bigger question is how many hoops will they make you jump through first. I think you want to know which hoops and how many you will need to jump through. That all depends on the person doing the interview. You haven't even filed so you have a LONG way to go. You should not even be thinking about this yet.
  8. If no vaccine current6ly you need to quarantine.
  9. I told my wife LONG ago that she should never listen to "they sad" in the Philippines. We have even joked about writing a book of all the "they saids'" It would be very humorous. As others already pointed out, an unmarried mother in the Philippines has full rights over their children. The father has zero.
  10. Just be warned. If you are flying in December, the rules will change 8 times between now and then. But if you want accurate info go to the Bureau of Immigration, Republic of the Philippines Facebook page. They are even very good at answering pm's https://www.facebook.com/officialbureauofimmigration
  11. Just have him come over to her family's house and sign the papers, hand him a case of Red Horse and a bottle of Emperador and you'll be all set!

    Tourist Visa

If you notice a lot of people replying are just answering about tourist visa's in general. As for the Philippines, I will just be honest, she has zero chance of getting a tourist visa. If she cannot make time in her schedule to have you visit her, she is hiding something. Someone that wants to be with you will mountains and whatever else it would take to accommodate you. So far in all of your posts to date re: your relationship there has been excuses as to why you to can't meet in person. Covid was definitely a real issue for all but that is past. If this was a serious relationship, you would have been there already. My advice cut bait.Either you or her are not taking this seriously.
  13. For my 2 sons, who were 2yrs and 3yrs when they first left, we just showed both passports. It was my wife's first time leaving as well and no ECC-A was needed for her as well.
  14. BINGO!! I will tell you right now that my wife has a would have done anything to have time with me. For the first 4-5 years we talked for at least 3 hours a day, and to her that was not enough. She would travel to internet cafe's if needed, but she always made the effort.
  15. Which Visa type? Please fill in your timeline or else make sure to post what visa you are talking about.
  16. I will be following about 2 years after you It seems you like to dot every I and cross every T and do things all buy the book. While there is nothing wrong with that, I rather live in and beyond the grey areas. I will keep an address listed in Hawaii, which will be my son's. I will keep US bank account and transfer everything to our Philippines bank account. I will use Remitly or Sendwave (currently more than 1 PHP higher exchange over Remitly) to do so. I may get a USD account in PH if that is better, but not worried at this time, I will research it more later or after the move. It seems that most if not all of your issues would be solved with maintaining a US address some how.
  17. Philippines is not as advanced as America for sure, but I will say that if she wanted more communication with you, you would have it.
  18. You mean not all countries are like America?
  19. You do realize that you can give them false inf right?
  20. Well that makes it simple. 62 for sure now. I was a little iffy before but this makes it a no brainer.
  21. Wait...Do I understand this right? (BTW my 2 boys are 3 & 4) So if I take early retirement at 62 (my kids will be 6 & 7), my children can also start receiving benefit? So say my benefit is 1k USD, they would receive 500 USD ea as well??
  22. Not sure yet when I plan top start. Currently 59 so 2 1/2 years from now would be the soonest.
