Not a CFO for immigration. It does not expire.
-
They all just want to know so they know when they can start asking if they can borrow money 🤣
-
We already had scans of all our documents. Uploaded the ones needed, had a < 10 minute interview and were done. Not to say that others don't have issues, but unfortunately most of what you see is the people that had complaints. I will say I have never heard of anyone not getting one. Just some are made to jump through more hoops than others.

Online marriage for CR1/IR1 visa from the Philippines
RO_AH replied to godspeed's topic in Philippines
It is impossible, not almost. -
Come on, don't be one of "those" foreigners. Philippines is no where near as technologically advanced as the USA so don't base your expectations on what you are familiar with. Besides, are you trying to say that the government bureaucracy is smooth and efficient here? You really need to change your expectations.

Online marriage for CR1/IR1 visa from the Philippines
RO_AH replied to godspeed's topic in Philippines
I would be much more expensive and take longer to send it from Philippines. Jusy have all of your things in order then send it off when you get back to the US. I would send them both when you get back to US. I know when I got married in the PH I needed the PSA marriage certificate (equivalent of a ROM) in order to file CR1. Since you will technically be married in USA I don't believe that you need the ROM prior to filing CR1. @John & Rose is very knowledgeable on Utah weddings (I believe his son did it) hopefully he will chime in. The topic that John started and @Dashinka shared above should have all of the info you need. Just make sure you know all of the requirement for ROM and CR1 and get everything prepared in advance. That way you can send it all in after you return. -
Online marriage for CR1/IR1 visa from the Philippines
RO_AH replied to godspeed's topic in Philippines
Can't Correct. If not married in the Philippines, you must file a ROM at the Philippine Consulate which has jurisdiction over the location where you were married. Utah falls under SF Consulate. Get all of your paperwork in order so that you can file for the visa as soon as you return. -
Online marriage for CR1/IR1 visa from the Philippines

Yes, get married and meet the consummation requirement. I don't know if that is better or not, that's a personal choice. But I would just think it is more special to be together when getting married. Most people started doing the Utah wedding when PH locked down due to covid and you could not go there to see a fiance but you could go visit your wife. It takes about 3 weeks to go there and get married but if you do a Utah wedding you could do it in a few days. Hard for some people to get 3 weeks off of work. -
Online marriage for CR1/IR1 visa from the Philippines
RO_AH replied to godspeed's topic in Philippines
Just do it straight through Utah. No need to pay an agency to do it. Search posts in this sub-forum, all info you need has been posted many times. Yes, you must file a ROM if she will come to USA. This is a Philippine requirement not a US requirement. Correct. But you can also be together in the PH when you marry which kiils 2 birds with 1 stone. Nothing says you need to be in seperate places when doing online wedding. Immigration only cares that she has a CFO. US does not require it to be registered. CFO does. As said before, CFO is required for her to leave the country. US only requires her to have a valid visa to enter. -
Online marriage for CR1/IR1 visa from the Philippines

Spouse will need a CFO certificate/sticker to leave the Philippines. CFO requires a ROM. If coming to America you need to file ROM. -
It's called tampo. Honestly your father shouldn't put up with it. The best way to deal with it is just ignore it and stop trying. But seriously your father should intervene. My wife and I have a 25 year gap too and she already knows that tampo ####### will not work with me and she would never do that to my older son. Although my older son does not live with us. Would you mind sharing your age?

Child living with paternal grandparents (split)
RO_AH replied to Kawika & Michelle's topic in Philippines
She has the right, but is it the right thing to do at this point in the child's life? -
Keep in mind that when she goes in for the medical she could get flagged for sputum testing. That will delay the process and you will need to reschedule your interview for after that process is complete.

All you need is her number to send her load. Or you could just call her?

My posts are based on all of your posts on this forum to date. Just like always you post here and are given lots of advice and chose to make excuses or give explanations of why you you don't want to do anything that has been suggested. I actually gave you a link to do what you are asking. May responses have all been based on what you have said so who is taking it off topic? Maybe if you would have just made a post with a sentence or two like "Is there a way to send load to the Philippines", you would have narrowed the responses to what you desire.

He is still analyzing and contemplating every angle. 🤣

I am talking about her reality. If a guy (living in poverty by our standards) is interested in a girl there first thing he will do is start sending her load so they can text. He will save up a weeks pay just to take her out. I really don't care what your style is. I am giving advice as someone who has met and currently has a successful relationship with a Filipina. Should have been doing that from the start. Your choice could also be to not take baths or use deodorant. I would also advise against that if you want a successful relationship. Don't be upset if I give you advice. If you don't want to send money you should not be going for a province girl. Find a well off one from a rich family in the city. Be forewarned though. That type of girl will not give you the time of day. Then meet. So you were willing to send money to girls in a 1st world country that more than likely live in standards 10x better than your girlfriend lives in. Got burned. Now you use that as your basis for not sending her money?

I met my wife when she had 3 jobs. I told her quit 2 so we could have time to communicate and I will make up the difference. That cost me about $60 USD/mo. 3 months later I was there to meet her in person. After seeing the situation I increased how much I sent. I also paid for load and internet so we have no problems communicating. We talked 2-4 hours a day most days. 12 years later we are married, she is here in US and we have two children. Yes, it's like investing money. Sometimes you lose and sometimes you win big time. I made some bad investments but I learned from all and now I hit the jackpot. I posted earlier the site I used for load. They never once failed me in over 10 years. Use them if you want. Hopefully you take to heart what I am saying because right now you seem like you have no clue about Filipina women or Filipino culture. Of course it's not something that we are raised with, but you really need to put in some effort to learn it. You learn the most by immersion. So get over there already. Do you even have a passport yet? I think I said this to you previously..Time to fish or cut bait. You have been talking/thinking, about getting serious for well over a year now.

At this point she is just playing along hoping that it will lead to something. But honestly she has guys there in the Philippines making $100/week willing to do more for her than you.

Divorce and children
RO_AH replied to NoMansLand2020's topic in Effects of Major Family Changes on Immigration Benefits
You had to have know that she was childish before you got married. I know "she will change" right? People don't typically change. Her and her children can go back and there is nothing that you can do to stop that and you should honestly assist in any way to make that happen. She would not be able to take your child without being given custody by the court. Good luck to you. -
philppines A Certificate of Legal Capacity to Contract Marriage(Phillipines)
RO_AH replied to Mccranny22's topic in Philippines
As I said before. Have her check HER LCR. Most of what @Jason and May said was very different from my experience. 1 constant which is law in Philippines is that it takes 10 working days to get your marriage certificate after you apply, which allows you to get married. So find out what is required and apply the day you get to her place. I was there for 3 weeks. We applied the day after I got to the Philippines (I landed in the evening). Applied for certificate. Scheduled courthouse wedding the firs available day when we applied for certificate. Got married and had a big party. Went home. My only regret was not requesting a expedite of the PSA certificate.- 6 replies

Philippine passport photos are different size than US for one (just so you are aware) and you do not bring photos to DFA they take them there with their computer. Been there and done that. Trust me. Honestly I believe you are worrying about nothing. Answered above Answered above. Whatever made you think her passport and USCIS photos need to match?? If they have a problem with her smiling (I highly doubt that they will) they will request her to submit a new one. Once again...This is not a big deal...Relax

Her wants are not your responsibility. 😲 I think you are doing enough for them by taking them to Manila. Now a free trip to Singapore? If she "wants" to go why isn't she doing the research instead of you. Sorry I don't really have the answers to the questions. I know there is no requirements domestically.

I could never imagine going through such a process and then pulling the passport. If you are getting the visa you will be going to USA right? What does she need to go back to HK for if the plan is to go to the US? Sorry I just don't get it. SLEC sends the results to USEM quickly. You could schedule interview for right after exam. But keep in mind either of you could get flagged for sputum testing and all of your timelines get thrown out the window.
