I wouldn't rule out voting for him actually, depending on his platform once he actually had one if he actually decided to run. He's pretty MOR as far as I know.

I agree with IAMX, that it is good to get a view from all sides.  I enjoy perusing HuffPo, and Salon occasionally along with the NYTimes and WaPo, and then there are some purported to be on the Right such as WashTimes, WSJ, or Foxnews.  Sometimes, you get better and more unbiased US political reporting from those on your side of the pond such as the BBC, or Sky.

I avoided mentioning online mainly because online is a far worse echo chamber, as we can see with social media.
 
I will say @Mr&Mrs G.you seem to have a pretty good head on your shoulders, my advice for news is, consider the same news story from multiple perspectives and see which one you think is trying to BS you the least/most. In virtually all circumstances they will all try to add their own spin.

If you could compile a list of common online news sources that would make every regular here happy, the world would be a perfect place.  We could even shut this forum down because all you would need to do is go read the news to understand what is happening.   Can you get that list compiled and signed off by next Wednesday?

My suggestion, look at some from all ends of the spectrum of news reporting (not punditry) and make up your mind.
 
As far as the spectrum goes, when it comes to TV media, FOX News is likely the only moderate, independent, and conservative voice that's a major American TV broadcaster. The rest are varying shades of liberal.

US preclearance is in some countries so they would have to be excluded from a ban or it will make a mockery of their own security.
 
When going through Dublin airport we get screened normally by the Irish airport security. The signs then inform you when to proceed to US preclearance, you go through security a second time removing shoes and laptops to be scanned. This is supposedly the same now as if you are going through an internal flight within the US. Surely you would be exempt from the ban because you are classed as being on US soil and TSA agents screen you.
 
Maybe this is a move to add more countries with preclearance, it will allow them to control security before it gets near the US.

Currently Ireland is the only country in Europe with a dedicated US precleance option. The proposed ban is supposed to be on some European countries so you may see France and Belgium on a future list. 
 
I don't see the point of the US government investing heavily on security abroad at airports if your not going to trust it from the start. Personally I am not a fan of using a laptop on board but just as WiFi is becoming common on long haul I would have considered using a tablet or smaller laptop.

As per the original ban being pre-cleared did NOT matter. I do not believe it will matter this time either.

What's funny is how the left are buying into the media's frenzy over this. 
 
Pros for the media:
- More attention
- More ratings
 
Cons for the media:
- To keep up these ratings and attention, need to perpetuate hysteria out of every single thing Trump does
- Potential to get old after a while (though we may be underestimating the left's tantrum throwing endurance potential)

My timeline is similar to yours and I hope to receive NOA2 sometime in October. NVC stage is next and assuming no extra requests it should take another 3 months before it gets passed on to the embassy stage which should take a further 3 months. We hope to have final approval and be able to travel sometime between March and May 2018 but it is different for countries with high fraud rates. For low risk countries the process is taking approx 12-15 months.

Right there with you. The gov't has already blocked my IP address three times for obsessively checking the case tracker. Which just means I turn on cellular data or use public wifi

Trump's mistake was not firing Comey right away. As was the case with all the Obama loyalists left over in the executive branch Trump opted to give him a chance to show he could do his job properly rather than firing him right away. I think he should have taken out the trash right away rather than allow it to rot in the White House.

But did you not care that Obama let Comey slide over the Clinton email investigation? The woman was guilty as sin but she got a pass, a blind man would have found the evidence quicker than Comey.  It would have been easier and a more worthy sacking if Obama had fired him. 
 
If Trump was in the wrong he will get impeached but it doesn't take away from the fact that Comey should have been gone long ago..

Looks like Trump just did what Obama should have done months ago, everyone wanted Comey gone so why all the fuss? 
 
If there's a conspiracy it will come out eventually, better to have Comey gone and someone more comptetant in the job unless you want a rigged conclusion just like Clinton.
