At least they showed their true colours, anybody voting against him is basically stating he is guilty of a serious crime without a jot of evidence.

They all seemed to be more interested in making speeches than anything else. I'm guessing Kavenaugh is going to get a real grilling from them.

George Strait is the latest entertainer caught up in sexual misconduct. Emmylou Hayes has recently come forward accusing the country legend of stalking and sexual harassment. According to Strait it happened way back in third grade and the attorneys for Miss Hayes say in Strait’s own words,"pink dress, matching bow, and a ponytail" lead to reasonable assumption of stalking. Further there is confusion as to who actually kissed who on the school bus. The twist in the case is the infamous "check yes or no" note after Strait admitted to chasing Emmylou around the playground, across the monkey bars, and over to the merry go round.

There are those who question Miss Hayes' motives after staying silent for so long...  

That's because those who tried to claim it had their suicides promptly scheduled.

So if we're applying equal standards across all government positions I must be missing something here. Many on the left are calling for Kavanaugh to voluntarily step away from the nomination based on accusations of sexual assault that don't have a shred of evidence behind them and are being alleged by people with a questionable past. On the other hand Bill Clinton had many more accusations against him with far more than a shred of evidence backing them up. Where was the left calling for him to resign? I have said it more than once and I will say it again. If the left didn't have double standards they would have no standards at all.

Man, even Mitch McConnell got religion, given his statement about the matter.
Wonder if he's also telling the fence-sitting Republican senators that, if they vote no, they're toast.
The vulnerable Democrats probably already know this, without having to be told.
 
The objective destruction aside, I can't get my thoughts away from the completely undeserved anguish being suffered by Mrs. Kavanaugh and their two young daughters.  What did they ever do to warrant this treatment?

1982 - Something may or may not have happened with another 2 (or 4) teenagers at a party, she cannot remember who threw the party, where the party was held, who she was with or how she got home. She was drinking and said nothing to anyone.

2012... She remembered 'something' happened in 1982, yet doesn't name Kavanaugh, still said nothing to authorities.

2017 - becomes an anti-trump activist.
2018 - now 36 years later, with Kavanaugh's SCOTUS confirmation looming, she pens an anonymous letter with grave accusations against Kavanaugh regarding foggy circumstance that occurred while they were both minors, then reveals herself and DEMANDS an FBI investigation before testifying to her incredible allegations?
Who does she think she is?

The only bed he has made so far is accepting the nomination there is no proof that he has done anything illegal. I think if there is any real proof then it's fair game for either side but at the moment there is nothing. 
 
The left seems to think that just because there is an accusation he should step aside. Can you imagine how frustrating it will get in the future, all the opposition party will have to do is find some have baked story to shut the other side down. 
 
Gutter politics at its best, the dems make it easy to not vote for them that's assuming I was allowed vote to begin with.

Faced with a similar situation would you give up on the biggest promotion available within your profession? I'm not too sure any amount of money would compensate him if he was to win a defamamation case.
 
It can't be enough to just accuse to ruin someone's life, at some point someone has to ask where the proof is and so far no one is offering any. If he is proven guilty then so be it but until then he is presumed innocent and entitled to proceed with his nomination.
 
 

When I walked into the office there were application forms for social security numbers on the guards desk. If you feel the office is going to be difficult why not have a form filled out before you get called to the window. It's very basic information, name date of birth, place of birth and parents names, also what's the immigration status of the applicant, make sure to bring their passport with the visa in it.

Jeez I can't get beyond tonight without wondering if I've put my foot in my mouth whilst having a few beers  Luckily those around me are not so sensitive, although the wife has been known to drag a thing or two up from the past when it suits her point of view, oddly when I do I'm told don't be dragging up the past 🤪

At such a young age when it comes to booze and parties ain't most guys douchebags?

Let the Thursday hearing go forth and hold a vote and let the chips fall where they may.  No need for Kavanaugh to withdraw since the Dems were not going to vote for him anyway and the unsubstantiated allegations don’t appear to be swaying the fence sitting Republicans.
