@Bignogginsjust so it's not misinterpreted... As a VJ member, your obligation is to fill out your VJ timeline as your statistics help every one here. Your timeline both helps members figure out estimates for THEIR timeline AND they help US to answer you properly (for free). A blank one helps no one. Fill it out ASAP please!

1. Your father is a standalone joint sponsor and will need to meet the income requirements for HIS household PLUS the immigrant. You will file an I864 and explain why you did not have to legally file taxes. He will file an I864. He cannot file an I864a. 2. Your father is a CO-sponsor and will need tp meet the income requirements for your COMBINED household meaning you must all live together. You will file an I864 and again, explain your tax situation. He will file an I864a as YOUR CO-Sponsor and you will COMBINE income (it any). He cannot be a joint sponsor and file I864a. You have confused the terms. Ensure you understand the difference.

No. Your first immigration benefit will appear in your new married name (IF you apply for it in that name). 99.99999% of K1s are not able to change their name on their SSN until after they receive their first immigration benefit because most SSA agents will not issue one in any name other than what is on your I94 and passport. It is 100%normal to not have a married name SSN card until you get your first immigration benefit. You can read through the many many many posts on SSN application for K1s by using the search bar. *your I94 expires then. Your K1 visa expired the moment you entered the US. Note that it also asks if you would like a REPLACEMENT card. That is why YOU are applying for one because you want a REPLACEMENT CARD in your new name (IF x your maiden name card does in fact come at all). And even if you don't get the one you went in person for now, you can order one this way too. Just answer the questions correctly in the moment you send off AOS. Your name changed the moment you married and decided to use any names as listed on your MC. Having ID is just proof. Your hubby is American. They all think that. It's only true for Americans. IMMIGRANTS change their immigration name FIRST (by getting their first immigration benefit (EAD or GC)) and then apply for other identifying documents like DLs/State IDs and an SSN in the married name. Leave it blank FOR NOW but fill it out accurately just before you mail it in case your maiden name card arrives. It must be completed regardless. No. That isn't the process. AND you may end up with none if they cancel your original application. Only if it happened IN the US. The instructions are clear on that part. It it happened outside of the US, just explain.

If using current employment income as current income, an Employment Verification Letter plus six months of current paystubs is recommended. You'll see that recommendation in the instructions. Not part of the question but in a different section she'll explain why she didn't file taxes. Yes. She can get a statement of annual benefits can't she? As above. Her EVL will state her estimated earnings and her 6 months worth of paystubs will back that up. As above I moved it.

Post has been moved to "Bringing Family Members of Permanent Residents to America" forum. The I864 instructions indicate where current income can come from. There are a few options. It is dependent on employment type and you must have proof of it. The proof types are also listed in the instructions. Not knowing what type of employment/income your sponsor and their co-sponsor have, we can't answer for you.

January 2025 AOS Filers
K1visaHopeful replied to Yareth's topic in Adjustment of Status Case Filing and Progress Reports
Yes. Explain in additional info section why you answered yes. Yes. Ditto as above. But your unauthorized stay is forgiven. -
They will send you an original or certified copy of the marriage CERTIFICATE provided you paid for one to be sent to you. A license is what is used TO GET married. Once married it becomes a CERTIFICATE once filed and recorded by the county regardless if it still says "license" on it. Learning the difference in terms is important so that others can help you correctly and those silently reading aren't misinformed. As a K1, your timeline is understood. You have 90 days to get married. It's understood that getting married ASAP as soon as you enter is ideal. Why haven't you completed the forms already? Compete everything, ready for mail and simply insert the required photocopies of your original or certified MC. K1 Visa Holder-Out of Status is her formal status and what you will enter in the forms. Please complete your timeline correctly so it can help everyone. Currently it shows her receiving her K1 Visa in July 2023 and arriving in the US in December 2024. That cannot be correct as that's over a year from issuance. Perhaps your dates for the I129F process are off by a year?

Obtaining SSN taking a VERY long time
K1visaHopeful replied to PokuPoku's topic in Social Security Numbers
I double dog dare you to Google "SSA office near me" and find a Google search that shows a phone number other than HO 18007721213. PS how will you know you're talking to YOUR agent that helped you if you call your "local SSA"? There is no accountability with SSA. Going in person is recommended. -
Obtaining SSN taking a VERY long time
K1visaHopeful replied to PokuPoku's topic in Social Security Numbers
You can't call the local office. There is no number listed other than the national number. That's why you must go in person. SSA HO will have nothing to do with it. In person only. -
Obtaining SSN taking a VERY long time
K1visaHopeful replied to PokuPoku's topic in Social Security Numbers
Did you go to the SSA office before Day 14 after arrival in the US? Going too soon when DHS has yet record the entry into the system means SSA won't be able to process it. When that happens the application usually sits on someone's desk to die until you aren't eligble anymore. Not many SSA agents will recheck those types of applications when there is no record of entry found. Edit: if your timeline is right, you likely went too soon. Dec 24th>> Jan 6th is a really short window considering two holidays during. I'd go in person and ask to speak to the agent listed on your receipt in person to see if it's actually being processed or left to rot. Don't speak to anyone else but them or their supervisor. Make them pull up your file in front of you. -
A WAIVER is a REASON/EXCUSE that you do NOT have to meet the one dose requirement at the time of the abroad exam. A waiver for everything or anything MAKES your exam complete. No. No. Any further vaccines would be a personal choice and certainly not through a CS. No. You do NOT submit THE DS3025. Your original medical exam was inside your visa envelope and collected at POE to be transferred to your AFile for storage until adjudicated. You submit a PHOTOCOPY of your D3025 with your I485 as a REMINDER to your adjudicator who likely adjudicates very few K1 I485s, that you are a K1 exempt of submitting an I693 and that need to look in your Afile for your medical exam Your PERSONAL DS3025 should be photocopied AGAIN and brought to the interview with your PERSONAL copy to remind your adjudicator again if necessary. Please fill out your VJ timeline completely in reciprocity. Your timeline stats help all VJ Members while we take the time to help you personally. A blank timeline helps no one.

Obtaining SSN taking a VERY long time
K1visaHopeful replied to PokuPoku's topic in Social Security Numbers
Are you a female and did you apply "incorrectly" in your MARRIED Name instead of in your maiden name? If so, there is a small chance you will get one at all until EAD or I485 approval. See the many posts on SSNs for K1s. -
Nothing you can do if you don't have a completed overseas medical, vaccines included. Completing the vaccines in the US and submitting a partial I693 is a ####### shoot. My explanation stands. Your adjudicator is confused. No recourse other than to do what they ask as you cannot have the embassy resend your overseas medical to you or anyone. Redo the entire medical But first....complete your timeline please.

Flu vaccine is seasonal. If it wasn't in season during the time of your medical exam overseas, you would have received a waiver on your DS3025 and it would be marked complete. Even if it was unavailable, you'd have recieved a waiver. What does your Personal copy of the DS3025 state? Complete or not? Your mistake? Likely submitting an I693 when you were already complete. You should have just have submitted a photo copy of your complete DS3025. Why is this a mistake? Because adjudicators don't do K1s very often and are confused. Yours likely hasn't even looked in your a file yet to see your medical exam because you submitted a partial I693. Your VJ timeline is blank. It needs to be filled out in reciprocity. Your timeline helps everyone while we help you. A blank one helps no one. Remedy: Redo exam in full.

MOTS: this is their online procedure that we must adhere to. Contacting them by other means, although the desire is understandable, is not acceptable until their online system allows us to based on the webpage results when we enter our correct info. If it says you aren't eligble, you just aren't yet. The good thing is you can check this on your own whenever you feel like and at the moment you are eligble you can get the ball rolling yourself by placing an online outside of normal processing times enquiry.

Learn more about the case enquiry date: When and How Can I Ask a Question About the Status of My Case? Processing times are provided as a reference point for how long we have taken to complete most cases. Because many factors impact the processing time – and to better manage our limited resources by allowing staff to focus on adjudicating cases rather than responding to inquiries – we allow inquiries for cases that are taking longer than the time USCIS took to complete 93% of adjudications. Those cases are deemed to be outside normal processing times. For forms that still use the cycle time methodology, we generally define outside normal processing times as those cases that are taking longer than 130% of the cycle time.2 You must go to the processing times webpage, where we provide a tool to help you determine whether you can request an update on your case. Using the tool, you enter your receipt date, which can be found on your receipt notice, into the text box. If your case is outside normal processing times (beyond the time to complete 93% of adjudicated cases or beyond 130% of the cycle time), you will be provided a link for submitting an inquiry. If your case is within normal processing times, you will be provided an estimated date for when you can contact us. Please check back periodically because processing times may change. 2. We use 130% of the cycle time because it is close to the time to complete 93% of adjudicated cases – though this can vary by form type and office. Because cycle times use a different methodology, they do not correspond directly to the processing times produced with our current methodology.

https://egov.uscis.gov/processing-times/ That is the website you've quoted. Check your I485 timeline at YOUR LFO. I765 is at the NBC for K1s. I765 and I485 are completely separate but parallel processes. You are only eligble to contact your government rep once you have exceeded the timeline for EACH process you wish to enquire about AND have waited out the online outside of normal processing times enquiry process completely for THAT individual application That means you can contact them for i765 once that normal processing timeline AND enquiry process wait has been exceeded and you have not received a result. You are not eligible to ask for help until then. I485 cannot be expedited under normal circumstances. Nope. For what? Do you mean when you place an expedite enquiry for you're I765 because you've found a job that will employ you and is willing to write you a letter of proof once you've received your I765? I765 can be expedited only on grounds of immediate work possibilities. Calling or emailing whom? USCIS? You have no reasons to contact USCIS unless you're eligible to place an online enquiry and followed through with that process to completion. Same with your government rep. It? I765? No. I485? Cannot expedite. Under the grounds you have spoken of? No. At th stage you are at, a government rep cannot help you yet. According to what you at have stated, you are not outside of normal processing times. I've linked the important pages that you seem to have quoted as you know you've passed the 80% mark for I485. What about i765? Ensure you've read through those webpages as they explain in extreme detail WHEN you are allowed to contact USCIS. Enquiry process is USCIS Online first, THEN your Government rep AFTER you've waited out the USCIS Online enquiry process.

I've read through the thread and explanations. Only one dose of any series is required. You did not need another Hep B IF it was too close to your last one. That wouldn't be the reason for them marking you as incomplete as they'd have given you a waiver for insufficient time interval. If it wasn't too close and your PP didn't do vaccines as explained, you'd needed to come with a record of your latest dose for them to include it. Seems like it's been assumed that it's the Hep B but it isn't. All I'm saying. You were there to hear their explanation by mouth. If your MMR record wasn't legible then that could be it.
