  1. Sorry about your divorce! You don't need to "unregister" from USA! you can go back to your country and take no action at all, definetly no needed...

    Ok, thanks ...

Yeah, I am sad that our marriage turned out to go like this - and it definitely made it a lot worse to be so far away from people I love and who love me...

So, that is what I am going to do.... move back to my home country - and we are going to file for divorce later on, when we have strength enough for it.

  2. Ok,

Thank you all for the help...

it sucks though - its too expensive to file for the travels permit....

If you're filing for AOS the cost also includes the filing fees for your EAD and AP.

But does this mean, that I have to filed for AOS after July 30 for it to have been included in the fees of earlier??

    The form says:

If you filed a Form I-485, Application to RegisterPermanent Residence or Adjust Status, as of July 30, 2007,no fee is required to also file a request for advance paroleon Form I-131.

  3. Me and my husband have filed all the papers for AOS - and the case is now pending.

As I am the K-1 visa holder, can I travel to Finland for a while, while the case is pending - without applying for travel permit?

    The I-131 form says:

NOTE: If you are in the United States and wish to travelabroad, you do not need to apply for advance parole ifboth conditions described below in numbers 1 and 2 aremet:A. You are in one of the following nonimmigrantcategories:1. An H-1, temporary worker, or H-4, spouse or childof an H-1; or2. An L-1, intracompany transferee, or L-2, spouse orchild of an L-1; or3. A K-3, spouse, or K-4, child of a U.S. citizen; or4. A V-2, spouse, or V-3, child of a lawful permanentresident; andB. A Form I-485, Application to Register PermanentResidence or Adjust Status, was filed on your behalfand is pending with the USCIS.However, upon returning to the United

    What does that mean?!?!

  4. So, I am filing for my adjustment of status ... and my husbands income is not enough for a affidavit of support. Therefor we decided to ask my friend to be a co.sponsor, and got to know that she needs to file a complete I864... I checked on USCIS, and noticed that there are 5 different I864 files!! Does she need to file them all, or just the first one of them..??

Is anyone of you in the same situation, and knows what all papers she needs to file?

    This is crazy...

we thought it was only I-132, but according to the letter from USCIS it was wrong.

  5. I am moving to Tulsa in March with my K-1 and getting married on March 15th/07. I will also be doing my AOS through Oklahoma City........ how did your interview go? Details please??

Are you going through the DORA program there? I read that DORA was short for Dallas Office Rapid Adjustment but have been told it is being used in Oklahoma also...... Do you have any info to share with me on this. Anyone else out there going through DORA in Oklahoma City?? Thanks.

    Susan

    The interview went just fine...

We arrived there about 10 minutes before our scheduled appointment time which was at 11. We had to wait for two hours, till we got in to the room, where a lady waited and started to asking questions.

    The lady was very stiff and looked bitter - and she didnt look at us while she asked her routine-questions. She asked me at first the many "yes or no" questions that are also printed on the form we filed (if I am a terrorist, if I have been a prostitute etc). Then she asked;

    -Whats your first name?

    -Whats your middle name?

    -Last name?

    -What is your adress?

    -What is your phone number?

    Then she asked my husband;

    -What is your name?

    -Where were you born?

    -When were you born?

    -What do you work with?

She looked at our papers during the whole time she asked this stiff questions, and made small notes with a red pen.

After our individual questions she asked how we met each other. We told her ... and then she asked what kind of proof we brought with us. I showed her the many pictures and the papers form our bank account - she looked quickly through them.

She gave us a piece of paper, and said that since my husband has payed this house off, but doesnt have any monthly income, he has to send her a valuation of this house, so that she can put everything forward with him as my affidavit of support.

She also told me that I will get a letter with an appointment for finger prints.

Then my husband told her about the problems we had when we were looking for a civil surgeon for my vaccination supplement; and not until then she started to look interested and actually looked at us, and smiled, and payed attention. She said that it is very good we tell her about it, and she took us with her after the interview were done, to another woman there, and told us that she works with exactly the problem we described; she is contacting the civil surgeons with correct info - and also telling them this and that what is right for them to do and what is wrong...

After we got out from the office, we felt happy and pleased with how things had went...

Now we just need to get a valuation for this house - and that should not be a problem.

Yes, Oklahoma is included to the DORA... we'll see how it will go...

  6. Im so sorry that they scammed you like that...

We had also troubles with finding a Dr who was willing to do the vaccination supplement without trying to trick and fool us... We had one Dr who wanted us to pay over 300 dollars! and another who was saying that according to their "own policy" they have to do the whole medical exam. if there has not been one within 6 moths. One Dr also said that they cannot do only the supplement thing separately from the whole medical exam. because of their policy. All this was just #######-talk...

When we had our interview two days ago in OKC, my husband told the officer there about this problem, and we mentioned that there are others aswell being in this kind of a problem (where doctors are taking advantage of immigrants and their situation) according to the discussions we have seen on different forums online. She was very happy to know that these problems are documented online, and she went right after our interview to another officer who is actually right now working with this problem - and told her what we told her. This was very nice to see - and it was nice, because she took us with her when she went there to report what we had said, so that we could see and hear that she took that problem into action.

So - it is so good that these problems are documented here!

  7. These civil surgeons have been given the right to steal by the U.S. government so it is very important that you shop around and ask lots of questions!

Oh I am so glad that we got the vaccination supplement done today! And it was so good that we called around, to see what doctor knew the best of this document, and who would not just jerk around with us.........trying to trick us.

We got in to the clinic quite late; about 1:30 pm... and the whole waiting room was full! The nurses in the reception said that we would have to wait for more than 1 hour...

but although, they called me in after about 15 mins after we came there, and gave me one tetanus shot, which they said I would need so that the doctor can sign and check it as approved... and the nurse said that she will try to sneak the paper to the doctor so that he can sign it earlier; so that I do not have to wait too long... that was so sweet!

So I waited another 15 mins after the shot, and then got an sealed envelope with the paper I needed.

The nurses was so sweet at the clinic! They had really a lot to do; but although, they were sweet and very pedagogic.

  8. So, I asked earlier some couple of days ago, here on this forum, how I should do with a vaccination supplement; I got to know that I only need the info about my vaccinations I got at my full medical examination transfered to another form...

My husband (who really is good at explaining things well, and talking etc) called to a doctor near us - the only doctor near us; and we explained what I was needing.... I got an appointment, and we went there.

I mentioned many times, that hey, this is only the vaccination supplement right?! because I was wondering why they took me into a room, and the doctor started to ask these questions ; - do you smoke? - are you an alcoholic? - are you, or have you ever been insane?

    - oh yes, vaccination supplement, yes, he said.

After the questions although, he looked some in my yellow vaccination card which I showed to him, and then started to look in my throat, ears and knocking on my knees and hands. Only a vaccination supplement? "oh yes...."

Then, he send me forward with the nurse, to go and pay my bill, and then continue my way to the lab for more test....

    hmmm.... ok I thought....

So I went to the reception, to pay the bill - but my chin fell 3 floors down, when the nurse said; it will then be 300 something dollars!!!!

    What?!?!?!

My husband came, and asked what it all is for, and said that it can not be that much for the vaccination supplement.

When he said that, they all looked surprised, and said "oh really!? She just needs the supplement???"

Grrrr - I was so mad! I had told them several of times, and wondered why they still are knocking on my knees etc!!

Anyways - they didnt really know what form to fill - so we went away from there....

We started calling around today to other doctors - and not until my husband talked with the 5th doctor on the list, they knew what we were talking about, and didnt insist on that I need a new medical exam.

We both got frustrated and angry - but we are glad we found this one doctor in OKC, who is going to do it for 25 dollars; and who knows what he is doing!

I hope you all have a lot better experience with finding a good doctor!

  9. Luckily for us we got it for free but I think because the civil surgeon had only done a couple before and didn't even know how to pay. Once they said free we left very fast with our I693A before they could change their minds!

    thats great for you guys!

We are thinking about doing it in OKC - does any of you know some good civil surgeon there? Someone to recommend?

Because we live a couple of hours away from OKC, we were thinking to try to get an appontment the day before we are about to file the papers in the homeland security office in OKC - and therefor go to the doctor one day, and then spend a night in some motel or hotel; and then go filing the papers the day after.... A good idea?

  10. Me and my honey has now got married, and we are about to file for the AOS.

For this, I am supposed to include a vaccination supplement; but I do not have to get a full medical exam. because I got it for my k1 visa within the past year in Sweden before I got here.

I got some copies from my doctor (civil surgeon) in Sweden, including the vaccination supplement she gave me in February -06.

    So, because of our confusion, we are now asking;

Do I need to go to a doctor here in OK USA to get a vaccination supplement? Or is it enough to have a copy of the vaccination supplement I got from the civil surgeon in Sweden?

  11. As me and my loving honey has got married, we are now gonna file our papers for adjustment of status here in OK.

For that, we have read that I need a vaccination supplement, but not a new medical exam. because I got a total med. exam. in Sweden for my k1 visa before I got to the USA.

So, our big confusion and question is : do I need to go to a doctor here again, to get a vaccination supplement, although I have got all the vaccinations I need? I have a copy from the doctor in Swe who gave me vaccination supplement... Is that all I need?

We would be very happy to hear what you needed to do when you filed your adjustment of status. :)

  12. Hello there...

me and my husband are needing some help... :help: we are now finally filing the papers for adjustment of status here in the US... and in one of the forms, they are asking my alien restration number.

Does anyone have an idea where I can find it?

I cant see any that kind of a number on my passport, visa or other papers :(

    uhummm...never mind my friends

I found out that people on a visitor visa gets an alien number ... so I will just leave it blank :)

  13. Whats the guarantee even if its sealed they will not reopen it again?

HOW DO WE KNOW WHICH ENVELOPE IS NOT SUPPOSE TO BE OPEN? WHAT'S THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE ENVEOLOPE WHERE IT COMES THE PASSAPORT AND THE ONE WITH THE VISA PAPERS?

I got my passport and the envelope in another big envelope... so, you will open one envelope at firts to find your passport which has a visa, and another big envelope - in my case the envelope I wasnt supposed to open. That envelope has a stamp on it, saying :

IMPORTANT NOTICE: to be opened only by the united states immigration or public health service officer, this is your visa - it must be surrendered to the united states - do not pack - it must be hand carried

So after you've read that, you know you are not supposed to open it... but I opened it of course before I read it. Silly me...

So an advice; double check all envelopes you get, before you open them :D

Its intresting to see how smart I get day by day... I always learn something new. :P

    Thanks all for nice support!

  14. So, here is some update:

I called the embassy, and had to wait for a while till they took my call.

I told the lady who answered, that I accidentally opened the envelope that I was not supposed to open  ... and she said I had called to the wrong department, but that she would ask her colleague about what to do. She said that there is no problems; I should only send the envelope back to the embassy - and they will send it all to me again in a new sealed envelope...

    What a good relief!

I can sleep tonight, and I know now what to do...

    ... and the best thing;

I will go to the usa to my honey during october!
