  1. Were you able to get an appointment yet? At long last, I finally secured an interview appointment at the end of the year. This may be a dumb question, but are you now using the new website? At some point, I kept trying to log into the ustraveldocs site and it would not log in. I did some digging and found they moved to a new website - usvisascheduling It took quite a bit of time to get a new profile set up and we stumbled a bit to get our receipt for interview fee recognized, but at long last a single appointment opened up at the end of the year and I was able to snag it. So about 45 days out. Let me know if you need more info on any of this. I am so jazzed to have our slot now. Progress!
  2. Oh, Happy Days. Finally found an open appointment slot - a single one - and booked it. In a turn of luck, it is just about a perfect time as I will be in Thailand for a couple weeks prior to assist with the last minute items (Medical, Police Record) and make sure all is organized. I rather belatedly realized they changed the entire website for booking appointments. I can't believe that was not better communicated. And the new website is not a whole lot better than the old one. It took quite a bit of effort to get our info over into the new site, including having to send a message to figure out how to import our interview payment proof. But all is finally ready. I will be scouring the site for info on how to schedule and organize the final steps. From memory, he needs an updated Single Certificate from village, a visit to get the Police Record check, and the medical. I think that is all that is left, except organizing and copying everything he will need to bring to the interview. Exciting!
  3. Same. Been checking constantly for months now. I sent an email but no clarifying information in the reply. Just appointments will be on the website when available. This is crazy frustrating.
  4. I guess I should have asked above, but for those that have recently been through the process in Thailand, when you did find an open interview slot, how far out were they booking? Sim lives in the NorthEast/Easn, and is not great about traveling solo. Trying to wrap my head around how much lead time we will have to get things organized.
  5. This describes us perfectly, including being in Jomtien! The ceac website is a horrible pain, but we successfully finished the DS160 in early July and paid the interview fee July 15th. Been checking every day, multiple times, for an interview slot, but nothing ever available. So frustrating!
  6. I recently emailed the Bangkok embassy to ask for an extension of the 4 month period. Received a reply in about a week extending it one year from the date of my request. We needed more time to get all the paperwork organized and such.
  7. Thanks @MalloryCat Looks like you have to have an interview date to schedule the medical. And they say to allow 10 days to get the full medical results to the Embassy. Doesn't seem like we will be able to get this done all in a 2 week visit. Medical appears to be valid for 6 months (3 for certain medical conditions, so not sure what that means). I can't seem to find how long the Police Record check and other docs are valid for. Just trying to figure out how to schedule all this so it is all valid when needed. Sim lives way out in the country, so it takes a lot of resources to go to Bangkok for this stuff. Will search around for some Thai specific threads / info. Thank you for your time! (I see your interview is approaching next month. Well done!)
  8. @MalloryCat - Just wanted to say "thanks" again for your assistance. After sending an email, they have extended the petition for 1 year, so now have plenty of time to get things accomplished. At the risk of asking too many questions.... Is there a resource on here about practical ways to organize the remaining steps? I will be in Thailand in July for a couple weeks, but doesn't seem like we can get everything accomplished in that time. He will need some assistance completing the DS-160, and seems like we need that before we can schedule medical. And we need an interview date before scheduling medical. Do couples usually get this done in quick succession? I wonder if I can remote into his computer and assist with him filing the DS-160 before I arrive. Is that allowable / typical? Feeling a bit overwhelmed.
  9. Yes, I have 2 weeks in Thailand in July, during which time I hope we can complete everything. He is not based in Bangkok, and getting all the necessary paperwork (police record, medical, etc) all requires Bangkok visit.
  10. Yes, I have an NVC case number. I received an email from NVC saying petition was approved and was being sent to Embassy Bangkok and that they would be in contact with fiancé when ready to process, and that the transfer could take several weeks. But fiancé never received anything. That's when I noticed on the approved I-129F form (sent in the email) that there was an expiration of 6/8/2024. /Added/ I just checked the status of the NVC number on line and it shows status as "ready".
  11. Thank you so much. Is there a place to look for contact information for the embassy? Is it better to do via email or phone, assuming there is an option for both? Thanks so much again for your quick reply
  12. Filed the I-129F back in August of 2022. Finally received notice that it was approved in March of 2024. I thought they were sending instructions to my fiancé on next step, but he never received anything. I have a trip planned for July to assist with gathering all the paperwork and getting to Bangkok for the interview. But just noticed on the petition it says "valid for 4 months and expires 6-8-2024". There is a brief note on the website that the expiration can be extended by consular officer, but no information on how to request. Anyone have insights on how to get this extended? Frustrating to wait sooo long for first approval, and then be expected to get everything done in 4 months. My schedule doesn't always allow for travel like that. Ugh. Thanks.
