In Tesla’s early days, the company offered unlimited free Supercharging to convince people to switch to electric vehicles. Those with a fancy Model S or Model X didn’t need to pay for gas or electricity. It’s a huge perk, but now it looks like Tesla wants it back.

Those with an older Model S/X can use any of Tesla’s thousands of Superchargers completely free. And while Tesla eventually stopped offering that freebie to new customers, many still take advantage of it and have yet to replace older vehicles.

In an effort to take away free charging and get those users into a newer vehicle, Tesla is offering an additional $5,000 toward a trade-in for a new EV. Several users on Reddit shared images of an email sent out to owners, and it reads:

“Current Tesla Model S or Model X owners with active unlimited free Supercharging are eligible for an additional $5,000 toward their trade-in value. To qualify, owners must trade in their Model S or Model X with unlimited free Supercharging and purchase a new Model S or Model X.”

Against my better judgement , I am posting a response.. and I am sure I will regret it ..

People  really  need to take a critical closer look at the studies used in the article .. only a couple of them were COVID19 mask studies and those that were COVID 19 studies were based on whether the public was advised to wear masks.. not whether  people actually wore masks at all .. or wore them effectively.
Statistics .. love them and hate them .. they can be used to say anything .. the devil is in the detail

Wisely now.. I am out 🤪

The problem is, studies back in 2015 debunked the efficacy of masks, especially cloth masks, against airborne, aerosolized viruses.  And not just in this country.

If you doubt my words, visit anywhere in the winter when temps are below 0° and people are walking around outside wearing ANY sort of mask.  The visual evidence will be very clear, I assure you.

There is NO mask in the world, minus a vacuum mask, that will stop the spread of any sort of exhaled vapor, let alone the viruses that are on a magnitude of 100,000 times smaller.

Absolutely.  Now there are those that will buy a performance EV for the fun, just like those that would buy an impractical Lambo, Porsche, or Bugatti, but for the everyday purchaser, the business case has to be there.

You said this yesterday, and this morning, this article popped up:

Hilton CEO Chris Nassetta says selling his black Porsche 944 was the best financial decision he ever made.

That's because buying it in the first place was his worst. He was in his 20s and fresh off a breakup when he saw the sleek model in a used car lot near his home in Arlington, Virginia. He had a third party ensure the car and the deal were legitimate, then paid $20,000 for it, taking out a loan to cover part of the cost.

"It nearly broke me," Nassetta, 60, tells CNBC Make It. "I spent all my money on that stupid car."

  4. Happened last year.  Think we already had a thread about it, but maybe not; may have seen it on another forum.  IIRC, he hung himself as well as shot himself in the chest with a shotgun.

Ahhh, I see now, same author as the original story, just updating it recently.
    https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-10805997/Bill-Clintons-special-advisor-let-Jeffrey-Epstein-White-House-dies-59.html

Notice the difference in the details... in the story in the OP, someone found MM "sitting at the base of a tree".  In the story below, from June of last year, he was found hanging from said tree.  And for those not in the know, it's exceptionally difficult to shoot oneself in the chest with a normal shotgun.  And impossible to shoot oneself, while hanging, then cause your shotgun to go missing.  Just sayin'...

  5. The other aspect is that used car prices are coming down FAST.  Bought a new truck in January 22 (traded in a 4-year old truck), and tried to trade it in back in Oct 22 for a 2023 model of the same trim.  The dealership offered me LESS for a 10-month old truck than I got for my 4-year old truck I traded in on the 2022.

    No thank you!

In August, the pair admitted a range of heinous sexual crimes, including rape and forcing their young sons to perform oral sex on them, after a midnight raid on their home during which one of the adults was hauled naked from the house.

Now, thanks to an investigation by Townhall, it has emerged that not only did the sick pair abuse the boys - they also stand accused of offering them up to other local men.

This one was a model 3 performance. 2022 with 6k miles. 54k Seems like a lot to me. But looking around that seems to be the avg price in the area. The guy that looked at ours was also looking at one about an hour away. Same exact car but 12k miles and it was 51. That seemed to be the cheapest in the market.

Gotta compare them to a similar ICE car, like a Camry.  NOW how does that price tag look?

Charges against Alec Baldwin have been reduced https://deadline.com/2023/02/alec-baldwin-shooting-rust-da-drops-gun-enhancement-charge-halyna-hutchins-1235265709/

You cannot charge someone under a statute that was not in place at the time they committed the crime. Instead of mandatory five years, he now faces 18 months. I have a feeling this will still be hard to get, wouldn't be surprised if charges get dropped.

So sad that he will actually get away with murder.  But money has that effect on the law.

I have to say that as I am closing in on my late 30s (I maintain that 37 is still mid-30s) that I feel far more together than I ever have before. In my prime, so to speak. But what I hear from older colleagues and relatives is that 40s are even better than 30s, and that what I am starting to feel now gets even better. I am good with that!

Frankly, and nothing to do with his politics, but I think Don Lemon has zero business saying when a woman is or is not in her prime. A woman is in her prime when she tells you she feels in control of her life, confident and excited to crack on with the business of life. This could very well last for decades, much like it does for men.

Agree with all of that.  Just wanted to add that I hope you continue to grow and follow the saying:

Interesting. I wondered when this was going to happen especially after Pfizer’s response to the video scandal of one of theirs exposing what was going on behind the scenes with the virus.

    Not surprised sadly.

Not surprised at all.  But (I hope) perhaps PV will take a turn for the worse as JO continues to seek and publish the truth elsewhere like others of his ilk.

He's from the UK, that means everyone wants to be his friend, as it raises an American's street cred by significant points. I defer all TV buying matters to my husband that pretty much was in that field of work for a time (to the point he will go into businesses and severely critique their setups). I have a on the smaller size Sony that I love, but he's been wanting to upgrade it to a 52". He always says don't go too big and don't go too small. 85" may be too much, compromise in the middle?

    I thought size didn't matter?

  13. In spite of the US government & FDA are refusing to back her, this brave lass who was a whistleblower about the lies told by Pfizer.

But, for researchers who were testing Pfizer’s vaccine at several sites in Texas during that autumn, speed may have come at the cost of data integrity and patient safety. A regional director who was employed at the research organisation Ventavia Research Group has told The BMJ that the company falsified data, unblinded patients, employed inadequately trained vaccinators, and was slow to follow up on adverse events reported in Pfizer’s pivotal phase III trial. Staff who conducted quality control checks were overwhelmed by the volume of problems they were finding. After repeatedly notifying Ventavia of these problems, the regional director, Brook Jackson (video 1), emailed a complaint to the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA). Ventavia fired her later the same day. Jackson has provided The BMJ with dozens of internal company documents, photos, audio recordings, and emails.

Other than the acceleration, I was not impressed.  I have a friend that has the 3 performance and we took a ride over to Miami a while back.  Did not ride well as it is too stiff.  Rear seating is horrible.  Too upright and minimal foot room.  Certainly not a luxury vehicle but you pay a luxury car price.

Yeah, that is one big drawback in Teslas in general for me.  Very harsh, and plasticky feeling inside.  Plus the performance ones have been having problems with suspension and wheels, I hear.

When their price drops by half, I might consider buying a cheap quality interior at a fair, cheap price.
