  1. I agree. The situation is getting untenable. I think perhaps contacting senators + representatives and maybe even doing it as a mass request (i.e. get multiple people to pool together) might be the best bet at this point.
  2. Did anyone try reaching out to Serbia again? They were taking transfers, then stopped. Just curious if they might be willing again now since almost all other avenues are closed. The pluses about Serbia: Russias do not need a visa and there are direct flights to Serbia from Russia.
  3. They will probably want to see proof of the new job to start the process, but you can reach out now and see what they say.
  4. Contact the local embassy and see what they say. Short term job relocation has been successful for many, but it's up to the embassy to make the call at the end of the day.

  6. If for some reason it takes her longer to get the visa in her passport, hopefully she can just join you later. My concern would be the medical and everything else needed for her to get the visa, as it takes time. Financial sponsorship form. You need to show you have income to support her in case she has a public charge. You will need to show proof of income and tax returns with this one.
  7. Very tiny nitpick, but for some reason the subtext on the Emigrating Outside the US forum shows up black whereas all the others show up light grey. Is anyone else seeing this?

  9. It's pretty difficult these days to get an InfoPass appointment. You can try calling the USCIS number and saying "InfoPass" but unless you say the exactly correct prompt, they'll just auto disconnect you. Please let us know if you have luck scheduling one.
  10. It's common for people from certain countries. Nothing you can do except wait it out. Could take days, weeks, months, sometimes even years.
  11. **Moved from Off Topic to Thailand regional forum**
  12. Not a matter of the "wrong forum" more that it's just beyond the scope of VJ. Our forum focuses on people who want to immigrate to the US. You might be better off looking for expat forums centered around Asia or certain Asian countries where others with similar plans can discuss things with you.
  13. I'm not very familiar with Ukraine's procedures but I heard they do a lot of things electronically, via the Dia app. @SteveInBostonI130 or another experienced Ukraine user here might be able to help more? Definitely don't pay money to some 3rd party to obtain it, that sounds scammy to me.
  14. **Four year old zombie thread locked from further comment. It is best to start a new thread so you can get answers from active users.** VJ Moderation
  15. That sounds about right since U4U usually gives parolees 2 years in the US. Don't see how it would be a problem.
  16. Definitely a case where it makes sense to try DCF. Good luck to you and please update us on your outcome!
  17. **Moved from Off Topic to PHIL regional forum**
  18. **Moved from IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & Procedures to Progress Reports**
  19. **Thread locked as OP is unlikely to find his answer on a US immigration-based website; the question is beyond the scope of VJ. OP is advised to see help on other expat or travel websites where information about going to the specific countries he is interested in can be found.** VJ Moderation
  20. You may qualify for a Certificate of Good Conduct through NY. It could be worth looking into if you fit the requirements: https://doccs.ny.gov/certificate-relief-good-conduct-restoration-rights
  21. **Moved from Tourist Visas to Off Topic; question is not related to US tourist visas**
  22. Are you trying to go to a country that requires a visa? If so, it is up to them to issue you one.
  23. Given your situation, it is best to contact a Vietnamese immigration lawyer who can help you understand the requirements and what your odds are for moving there. And truthfully, even a Vietnamese lawyer may not be able to to tell you the chances. It could be something that rests with the authorities who make the final decision.
  24. You can visit Russia at this time, plenty of tourists are still coming and going. Just not as many from western countries. There are no flights from Europe to Russia anymore except from Serbia. Istanbul remains a popular city to change planes in for those wishing to visit Russia.
