  1. Correct, F2A has retrogressed by several years after being current for a long time.
  2. You seem confused. You should research that type of visa to better understand how it works.
  3. Surprised the cruise ship company is not advising you, as this is so common. Most cruise ships are staffed internationally.
  4. Why not? If you’re not working in a U.S. state or territory, why should it matter? You’d want to research the work visa requirements for the country you’d be in while working.
  5. Sure, go for it. If it is stuck in background checks, that is what they will tell the senator’s office.
  6. No, they will not intervene in any way with a consular decision or administrative process. Sorry. Background checks/vetting cannot be expedited anyway.
  7. Excellent summary. Wish more people looking to bring over elderly relatives would consider the health care cost.
  8. I don’t see any type of nonimmigrant visa happening for you anytime soon. Why are you so desperate to get to the United States?
  9. They won't qualify for Medicare. The healthcare issue is a CRUCIAL part of planning, as you could be paying >$2k/month in premiums for them.
  10. As long as the marriage is valid where it occurs, that's sufficient. There is no doing a marriage "under a US passport." In terms of what it takes for foreigners to marry in a specific location, that is something to research about the country in question, it isn't part of US immigration. Are you not worried about a visit to Cuba creating issues for your Russian fiance when it comes time for the US visa?
  11. Not sure how it could matter? There is no notation put in a US passport when you get married. You need a certified marriage certificate with a translation. I'm not sure why you're focusing on a passport, it is irrelevant. There is no centralized marriage registry in the US.
  12. This can backfire in terms of visa approval...
  13. Right, which is why I said to check the published DOS info. No US consulate requires or accepts sponsorship for tourist visas.
  14. Amazing this myth persists when even DOS official info explicitly states that a visa decision will be made without regard to any type of invitation letter or sponsorship. People need to read the actual instructions.
  15. That’s great news! Thanks for reporting back to us, it’s good to know that it worked for you!
  16. AP is taking 8-12 months to approve, regardless of when you want to travel. It’s best not to book tickets or have specific plans until you have it in your possession.
  17. Omg, there is NO sponsorship for tourist visas !!! if you want to sponsor them to live here, petition them properly!
