  1. I doubt immigration officers would click on links embedded in your emailed request to expedite. You would have to provide printed information to substantiate your request.
  2. This, and the fact that during the global pandemic, K-1s were very low priority are big reasons in my mind not to choose that visa.
  3. I think USCIS is now issuing denials for issued which previously may have resulted in an RFE. They cracked down similarly several years ago and began denying "placeholder" petitions people sent in with incomplete documentation.
  4. I'm certainly not saying he plans to overstay. I am saying that when another family member has adjusted status on a nonimmigrant visa, it does get the attention of visa officers.
  5. If he stayed/married and adjusted on a nonimmigrant student visa, that doesn't bode well for your nephew. What's to stop him from doing the same thing?
  6. Sorry to hear about your diagnosis. People have expedited for health reasons for the USC petitioner, yes. You need to write a succinct letter explaining the situation, and providing supporting documentation, such as a letter from your oncologist. I am an oncology RN, and we have provided such letters to patients for immigration purposes. Good point. OP, what is the visa category? If a visa is not numerically available at this time, they cannot expedite it for any reason.
  7. Don't wait. Have her get her surgery now. They won't expedite for that reason, anyway. Also: PLEASE make sure you have adequate health insurance for when she does arrive. If it is cancer, she will need very expensive, ongoing treatments, and she will not be eligible for medicaid or anything of that nature.
  8. That is normal. Immigrants often petition for spouses from their same country or region.
  9. They don't deny visas "just because they feel like it," nor based on race. If that was the case, no one from Lagos would get a visa. That said, there is a LOT of fraud out of Lagos. It's in a category of it's own when it comes to US immigration fraud. You can appeal. It will take several years. In the meantime, it would bode well for your appeal if you moved there to be with your wife. That would show credibility to your marriage, and help to assuage doubts if they suspect it is a green card marriage.
  10. Word on the street is that no F-1s are being approved, and previously approved ones are being revoked. That said, OP it is a VERY bad idea to either like or lie by omission about your USC spouse. You are required to disclose family in the US. They already know, anyway - think of it as a test as to your credibility.
  11. If you have cash to burn, go for it. Applying immediately after a denial with no change in circumstances will not likely end differently.
  12. The Peace Arch/Blaine crossing from US into Canada is now doing exit checks on the US side...
  13. Why is the petitioner not providing his own divorce decree?
  14. Vetting and background checks are always relevent.
  15. With immigrant intent, she will need to convince them of her ties to home and plan to return home after vacation.
  16. Entirely depends upon the consulate/country, and whether there are other red flags in your case. If you want meaningful feedback, please do a timeline.
  17. We submitted zero photos, and were approved without any problems.
  18. If you have removal orders, you absolutely need an immigration lawyer. This is way beyond the scope of Visa Journey.
  19. Kiwi needs to do the same thing, but currently the passport office still has his original naturalization certificate.... 4 weeks today since they received the application, so hopefully soon.
  20. Your parents not knowing about your older American wife of 4 years is a big red flag.
  21. OP, is there a language barrier here? I think you should return to the Mailboxes, etc and ask for your paperwork back. Documents intended for the US consulate in London need to be mailed properly. If they put it in a drawer, it's not going to get there. You will not get the visa if you don't properly provide the documents requested.
  22. Requesting a CV can be part of the vetting process for any US visa. Were you born in a different country than the UK? What were the consulate's specific instructions for submitting your CV? I agree with Jeanne, it seems that you dropped it off at a mailing place without a properly addressed envelope, so I'm not sure what they would do with that.
