  1. Every immigration related process we have done, from I-129F petition through to naturalization oath has been completed within the USCIS published processing estimates. Been at this since 2018, and processing times always fluctuate.
  2. Depends entirely on the consulate where you will interview. However, please do not send 1000 text pages or whatever. I promise that no one at USCIS wants to riffle through that.
  3. No, you would not be eligible to do that. Also: it is immigration FRAUD for you to enter the US with the intent to immigrate.
  4. Not worth the risk. It will be years before a visa number is available to you. If you overstay, it will not be forgiven, and you cannot adjust status if you're out of status.
  5. It’s FRAUD to enter with the intent to adjust. CBP, DHS and USCIS are all are absolutely cracking down on fraudulent and nefarious behavior. Do not do that, or you risk all future immigration benefits.
  6. They absolutely have the right to inspect any traveller’s property, including phones.
  7. Were there any red flags with your case? Why did you have to re-do biometrics?
  8. For long visits outside of the US, (>6 mo), you would want to get a returning resident permit. I'm blanking on the name of the form just now, but someone else will mention it. You have to apply for it from within the US, and appear for biometrics. Long periods outside of the US as a green card holder can definitely impact the timing and your ability to naturalize. You will want to keep very good records of trips, and adhere to the residency requirements. In terms of your ability to safely travel and return to the US - no one really knows, at this point. Everyone will individually have to assess their own tolerance to risk while closely watching the EOs and US immigration news and trends.
  9. Refile, and pay someone who understands the forms to help you.
  10. One of my kids has a degree in neuroscience from WWU. He loved it there. Great school!
  11. Yeah, I suspect green card interviews will no longer be waived, full stop.
  12. Nobody knows. Only you can assess your own comfort with potential risks regarding the upcoming bans. Even without travel bans and with a physical green card, you would be advised to limit your trips abroad, since green cards are for living in the US.
  13. Why didn’t you file for AP? It was even free to do so then.
  14. Really? This is one of the reasons US immigration is so messed up, and people doing things legally have extended delays. Thanks for that.
  15. And yet the refrain here on VJ is “intent is determined at POE.” Which doesn’t really address lying.
  16. Husband's was only three months, but he filed under 5 year rule. It also really varies by field office. You can check N-400 processing times for your local field office on the USCIS.gov site.
  17. EXACTLY. Also stunning is that this advice is widely proffered by actual lawyers.
  18. It’s about time. Gets tiresome seeing people on VJ looking for info on how to circumvent the queues by doing this….
  19. Had you filed in January, it wouldn't have made a difference. You are conflating the petition with a visa. An easy misconception for newbies, but I stronglyI suggest you read up on the differences as part of your research into overall US immigration. Like pushbrk says, your success at this is tied becoming an "A student" of all things related to your process. Own your process, since you are the one who cares the most about it. Most of us here on VisaJourney have not used lawyers or notarios or whatever. This is a DIY site. People with approved petitions get denied visas ALL THE TIME. The purpose of the petition is to establish the relationship eligibility (such as finance, spouse), upon which the visa is based. Approved petitions from two years ago will not lead to issued visas if there is a travel ban. The final say for visa issuance is 100% with the consulate, and directives given to consulates by state department leadership and their superiors will be adhered to regardless of petition approvals.
  20. You are letting your own choices victimize you. No one is "owed" anything. Why are all bets off if she can't get a green card? Why can't you move to live with her?
  21. NO. It is fraud to try to make an “anchor baby” by entering the US with the intent to given birth. Don’t even try it. And hopefully this plan for fraud will be stopped with the travel ban for your country.
  22. Do the terms of the ESTA allow for those activities? You will want to make sure 100% sure that academic research and interviews are permitted, especially in light of recent high-profile incidents of ESTA being revoked due to violation of terms.
  23. The ban has nothing to do with petitions. Just like last time, it applies to visa issuance at the consular level. Unfortunately “grandfathering” or “beating the ban” does not apply in your case.
