  1. Then that is their answer. The embassy/consulate has the authoritative say in whether to grant an emergency interview for a B2.
  2. It’s only been 7 months - not sure why you’re shocked that it takes that long? As explained, bringing here here on ESTA to adjust status is immigration fraud.
  3. Living and working abroad while only having AP….sounds like abandonment of green card even before obtaining it.
  4. The OP didn’t fully describe her status in Canada. Either answer would be fine.
  5. What do you even mean by ID? The Romanian passport is a form of ID.
  6. The overall process of getting that type of visa is at least 20 years.
  7. Some of the advice given in this thread is bordering on advocating lying to CBP. If asked directly, she absolutely needs to tell the truth about her intentions. Failing to do so is a great way to get a swift removal and a ban.
  8. I’d be very nervous doing this. Even with a green card- the point is to reside in the U.S., but it doesn’t sound like this is the plan.
  9. That is immigration fraud. You need to petition her properly if she wants an immigrant visa.
  10. It will not be expedited. Takes 1-2 years.
  11. There are widespread issues in the US right now with getting in to see even primary care physicians. Many are not accepting new patients. A lot of health care clinicians have left health care altogether.
  12. Sure they will. They need official picture ID, and that is exactly what a passport is.
  13. Right. My point is that if she applied as married (but was not, as is common in some African countries), that could be the source of her issue.
  14. It’s not you “bringing” someone here on a tourist visa, she applies on her own. There is no sponsorship. She needs to be completely honest about her intentions.
  15. It’s not optional. The one you obtained 18 years ago to immigrate to Canada is not relevant for US immigration. If you can’t get it in time for the interview, you should attend the interview anyway. You will get a 221g pending the consulate’s receipt of the PCC. Your case will be in administrative processing. Expect extra time if you’re from a high fraud/high risk/MENA country.
  16. Is she from an African country, and did she previously apply for a visitor visa claiming to be married when she was not?
  17. Ah, in that case you could write “May 2024-present.”
  18. No difference. Dept of State is dealing with the same issues regardless of where the applicant lives.
  19. This is not a good choice for a joint sponsor. I'd find another one, or figure out why the petitioner isn't doing everything in their power to qualify. Sometimes people have to explore getting a better/2nd job in order to sponsor an immigrant. Immigrating to the US is very expensive, as is living here.
  20. I'd steer clear of claiming to live together if you are visiting as a Canadian. You could put "May 2024-present" or something, but again, the B privilege for Canadians is for visiting, not for moving to the US.
  21. Really though? If I moved to England at 81, would I have free access to a system that I hadn't paid into? I certainly wouldn't expect to.
  22. This is 100% FRAUD. Don't do it, especially since she is on shaky ground geopolitically. Fire that lawyer, he's a moron.
  23. Has the lawyer explicitly stated that there will be no problem with her CCP affiliation? Because that is kind of a big deal to the department of state. The CR-1 is a much better visa, primarily for the reason you describe - the ability to work and travel immediately vs waiting up to one year. Either option will not be quick, and will require AP due to the CCP membership. Good luck.
