  1. Ah, in that case you could write “May 2024-present.”
  2. No difference. Dept of State is dealing with the same issues regardless of where the applicant lives.
  3. This is not a good choice for a joint sponsor. I'd find another one, or figure out why the petitioner isn't doing everything in their power to qualify. Sometimes people have to explore getting a better/2nd job in order to sponsor an immigrant. Immigrating to the US is very expensive, as is living here.
  4. I'd steer clear of claiming to live together if you are visiting as a Canadian. You could put "May 2024-present" or something, but again, the B privilege for Canadians is for visiting, not for moving to the US.
  5. Really though? If I moved to England at 81, would I have free access to a system that I hadn't paid into? I certainly wouldn't expect to.
  6. This is 100% FRAUD. Don't do it, especially since she is on shaky ground geopolitically. Fire that lawyer, he's a moron.
  7. Has the lawyer explicitly stated that there will be no problem with her CCP affiliation? Because that is kind of a big deal to the department of state. The CR-1 is a much better visa, primarily for the reason you describe - the ability to work and travel immediately vs waiting up to one year. Either option will not be quick, and will require AP due to the CCP membership. Good luck.
  8. On what grounds does he think he can immigrate?
  9. No, he absolutely cannot have two wives for any US immigration application. This guy will not be immigrating.
  10. If you had travelled during that ten month interval, that would do it.
  11. State rep cannot help anyone establish domicile. Best evidence is job offer. OP, some people find they have to bite the bullet and actually move and start working ahead of the spouse in order to satisfy the domicile issue. Good luck.
  12. I think sometimes it’s simply a case of someone needing to sign off on something, and they are on vacation or whatever, etc. I don’t think there is anything to worry about- just the usual summer slowdown at ol’ USCIS.
  13. No. The delay is because others are ahead of you in the queue. Your representative can’t arrange for you to jump ahead, now can they?
  14. The visa info should reflect the passport bio page. It is also recommended to not ever purchase flights until the visa is in hand.
  15. You asked ALL these questions in your previous many threads.
  16. There is no fixed time allowed. Each border entry is at the discretion of CBP. They will stamp the allowed time in the passport. Note that if you are attempting to “live” in the U.S. for 6 months each year, expect trouble and risk to the B visa. Also- they will wonder how you can afford to do this, and you should know that remote work is NOT allowed.
  17. Uh, you seem confused. She is in no way eligible for a U.S. passport. A K1 visa will be put into her current passport.
  18. Nope. Polygamy is illegal in all 50 states. If he wants to live like this, he should stay in his own country.
  19. Still not sure what you're asking, but: you cannot add a derivative spouse now that you are already here and were not married when you received your visa. If eligible, she can try for her own work visa. Otherwise, as a GC holder, you would petition her as F2A, which like I said, is a numerically limited category for which there is a queue.
  20. That isn’t really a term for it, but the process starts with you petitioning your wife for an immigrant visa. I-130 is the form. I-485 does not come into play until much later in the process. The process will take many years, as it is a numerically limited category, and not current.
  21. Even if you petition them now, it will be years before they can get visas. Suggest you don’t petition them until they’re ready to live here full time. And in the meantime, you’ll want to research on how you/they will afford the cost of their healthcare (and overall retirement, since they won’t get social security).
