  1. Imagine the income USCIS could generate if they allowed people to petition partners sight unseen!
  2. Except choose wisely next time, preferably someone local so that thorough vetting of compatibility can be done before marrying.
  3. It’s simply a portal for you to exchange info with your provider. Where I live, many of the hospitals and providers use an electronic medical record software called Epic, and they can share info via a function called “care everywhere.” So I can see my patient’s labs that were collected at another facility, etc. Not sure about other states, but here in Washington, there are centralized databases (which interface with pharmacies too) which monitor all patient opiate prescriptions and ER visits, regardless of where in the state they were done.
  4. Expediting under financial loss can be a catch-22, as your spouse is expected to be able to financially sponsor you. See how that might backfire?
  5. There is no such process. Anyone may request an expedite; the requirements for seeking an EAD are no different. A written job offer will increase your chances. It is still unlikely you will be working 5 months after POE. There is no "expedited process." It is a request.
  6. Our collective experience here at VJ of those who persist in doing a K-1 because they perceive they'll "get to be together sooner" would suggest otherwise. I also don't foresee many CR-1 applicants deliberately delaying POE to avoid ROC, unless it is a matter of a short time.
  7. And spend the resources investigating those who marry and AOS after meeting a USC on a two week vacation.
  8. Thanks for mentioning that, I wasn’t sure how CEAC accounts were created.
  9. He cannot petition for himself for a GC. Where did you get that idea?!
  10. What did you find after creating the CEAC account? Will it let you upload any documents?
  11. Hmm, I think you should be okay. Hopefully a member with more direct experience doing family visas will come along. I did a K-1, so NVC was only minimally involved. I do recall seeing comments that cases won’t be administratively closed until a year of inactivity has elapsed, however, and yours has not been that long.
  12. Do you have a CEAC account? I believe you would have been able to upload documents to that account.
  13. If your spouse wants to stay in the US for long periods, best to petition for an immigrant visa. B visas are not for living here.
  14. Is your case at NVC? Normally after approval at the service center, it is sent to NVC and you upload required civil and supporting documents to become “documentarily qualified.” Are you an LPR?
  15. Lots has changed in that 6 or 7 years. 99% of 1-129F petitions for K-1s are adjudicated at California. There is no connection to the state of residence of the petitioner.
  16. No, it is not. Did you upload the required documentation to NVC as instructed?
  17. Yes, that is the idea. Whether that translates from theory to practice is to be seen.
  18. You really think they'll offer premium processing to the masses? 🤔
  19. Maybe they have changed things, but in my experience, there was nothing to pay at NVC. They really only hold on to the approved petitions until requested by consulates, at which point they mail them overseas in batches. Once received by the consulate, you should get packet 3, which is the instructions pertaining to the medical, police report, paying the visa fee etc. The NVC part of the process used to take a week or two. I believe it can now take months, depending on the consulate. I would think that Warsaw K-1 interviews for 3rd party nationals would unfortunately not be prioritized.
  20. NVC doesn’t do welcome letters for K-1s, or processing for them of any kind. They only dispatch approved petitions to consulates when the consulate requests them. Maybe your consulate is backed up.
  21. She won’t get a visitor visa with a pending immigrant visa, for obvious reasons. I don’t think your overall process will be delayed.
  22. The interview will default to Frankfurt, regardless of what was put on the form.
  23. You have no path through adoption or through your family. Like others have said, focus on education/skills building and you could eventually be eligible. Good luck!
  24. Really? The only I-129f petitions sent to Vermont are the ones with criminal backgrounds involving certain crimes. And I assure you they sit there for much longer.
