  1. If you want help, you’ll need to identify the consulate and explain your situation further.
  2. Agreed. I have also seen many American men here on VJ bemoan the fact that after bringing their Filipina wife over, they found out that the expectation was that they would support her family back home. Not saying that will happen to you OP, but it is something to consider discussing before making a commitment to someone.
  3. No. Also, doing it that way raises so many red flags that even getting an immigrant visa is unlikely.
  4. You can't really plan around that. They'll get what they get, and expecting to be allowed to stay for 6 months when coming from a high fraud country may be expecting too much.
  5. So true. OP, please for the love of Pete spend some significant time reading and becoming educated on the process. Doing so could save you so much money and lost time. Hiring a service to help you is fine, but it will not make the process faster, cheaper (quite the opposite) or easier. Either option you take (CR-1 or K-1) will cost thousands of dollars (excluding travel), and will take two years. There is no way around that.
  6. Even if you were married it would be highly unlikely that she would get a B2 visa.
  7. What was she doing for income before she found you? Very odd to be financially supporting someone (and her child) you've met once. For many, that would send up red flags.
  8. Hopefully all parties involved realize that the bio mom will not have any path to a green card via the daughters.
  9. That was the error that led to NOIR/deciding that the beneficiary was no longer eligible for the visa type. Had you found VJ sooner, we would have cautioned against it.
  10. I think you are not understanding what you are seeing. Overall timeframes are close to two years for both visa types. I-129f alone takes 15.5 months for approval. NVC/consulate easily brings it to two years.
  11. Quitting your job was risky. Do you have a joint sponsor lined up? I don’t see an expedite happening. People have been denied for much more urgent reasons.
  12. Yes, it does. The consulate will extend the validity though. You can email them to request that, although I believe most are doing it automatically, since they’re all behind.
  13. We can only reply to the quality of the info provided. No where in that comment did you indicate that you were talking about a marriage license.
  14. Right. The demographic of RV users is certainly different from VJ users.
  15. Well, you seem a bit generally lost, and since this is an immigration site, I figured your question was related to immigration, rather than your county’s marriage license application.
  16. Pre-application? You realize you cannot submit a petition until you have a certified marriage certificate, right?
  17. I only mentioned the I-751 cost increase because if you were to marry and pursue the CR-1 instead, chances are she would enter the US with an immigrant visa after your two year wedding anniversary, and she would automatically get a ten year green card, thereby avoiding removal of conditions (ROC). Having her adjust status now and stay means you will undergo the removal of conditions process in several years.
  18. Normally it could affect both her residency and eligibility for naturalization, but there may be exceptions for military contractors. @Mike E, @Crazy Cat, do you know?
  19. That’s good. The total cost for removing conditions on a green card will be going from $680 to $1195 soon. Also, you will want to make sure she understands that without the work permit, she cannot even work online/remotely.
  20. Might want to explain to them that they have no path to adjust status and stay in the US while visiting. People are often confused about immigration laws.
