  1. It is fraud to enter with the intent to adjust status. You need to petition them- there is no work-around for the queue.
  2. I believe easily liquidated/liquid assets are generally fine. @pushbrk
  3. Definitely. She would need strong ties to home (reasons to return), like anyone wanting a tourist visa. Unfortunately, when people overstay, it makes it harder for others from the same country to get visas.
  4. Depends on the assets. If it’s a house where the immigrant is to live, then no. Easier to just get a job or a joint sponsor.
  5. Because she clearly wants to immigrate. Consular officers are required to assess immigrant intent for tourist visa applicants.
  6. Most countries do not even have a pathway for siblings to immigrate. USA still does, but might not in 20 years.
  7. She won't likely get a tourist visa, ever. If you need household help, your best bet is to hire someone locally.
  8. No she can't. That visa category is numerically limited each year. You should familiarize yourself with the visa bulletin.
  9. You can file without regard to sponsorship ability, because it will be TWENTY (20) YEARS before a visa number is available to your sister, and obviously your financial situation will be completely different then.
  10. The basis of an expedite request is the documentation that supports the reason for the request. I would make sure I had everything in order before submitting.
  11. They won’t approve an expedite without the supporting documentation- why would they?
  12. Most expedite requests are denied. It will take at least two years from filing to visa in hand. Spousal visas are taking around the same amount of time. The reality of US immigration in 2023.
  13. You can try emailing the consulate. That one has like a two year backup for interviews though.
  14. Fraud was committed, whether he realized it or not. OP, you should just give up the K-1 process and get married if you need to have the religious ceremony first. Pakistan is very high fraud, if you’re smart, you won’t do anything to add to that perception.
  15. If you do this, she will no longer be eligible for the K-1 visa.
  16. Why would you need to pick her up and bring her here? Presumably she is a grown woman and can travel as such? And no, there are no visa extensions.
  17. Maybe your friends are in luck....I've seen the VJ references to the May 30 date for the fee increases, but there is nothing official to be found. Other speculations I've seen online are "by the end of 2023" and "this summer."
  18. Wait......I'm confused. Are they trying to pay the higher fee?
  19. If it arrives after the fee change, it will absolutely be rejected. There is no leeway, or mailing date or anything - it's 100% receipt date.
  20. He sort of (ish) did, and yet chose to defer to a rando at the mall.
  21. Pakistanis get extra background checks anyway. The countries you listed are not extremist countries....you'd want to be careful traveling to countries like Iran.
  22. That is not normal. Sounds like a clerical error (the RFE notice). An approval is an approval. Could be that they intended to do an RFE, but realized they didn't need to in order to approve the petition. Please let us know what shows up in the mail, and good luck.
