  1. US visas are not given in the US. R visas are not easy to obtain, as there is a significant history of fraud. You don't need to "invite" her to use her B visa. Nor is there any type of sponsorship from you or any 'sponsoring organization.' She can visit the US, but she cannot adjust status while here. Just do the right thing and petition her for a sibling visa, which is the only legal path she has. Also- is there a reason why you posted this in the Waiver/601 section?
  2. Don't wait. Your husband is here illegally! How would it be for your kids if he was deported? Obtaining legal status needs to be your priority.
  3. You should be totally fine. Current income (payslips) IS more important than past income (tax transcripts). You could include a note of explanation with the tax transcripts, but the focus will be on the payslips, so you should be good to go.
  4. When you go to the deferred inspection office, Do NOT start going on about an I-94. It was a mistake to bring that up at the other site you visited. Try to communicate concisely, with minimal extraneous info. Do not complicate things. I assume you’re able to communicate adequately in English? Tell them: CBP missed endorsing her immigrant visa at the port of entry, so that’s why you’re there. It’s really quite simple. You may want to focus on keeping your cool this time. Getting mad or raising your voice will not make anyone want to help you.
  5. Just goes to show that there is no rhyme or reason when it comes to USCIS status updates and actual action, lol.
  6. Not really relevant to OP's situation though, as no US rep can intervene in a visa denial.
  7. Congratulations! And very well done on your choice of field for education and work. We desperately need good people in law enforcement. My husband was in business banking in NZ for 30 years before coming to the US, and it had always been a goal of him to work in law enforcement. He's now on his 3rd promotion/2nd agency locally. Best wishes for your future.
  8. Hopefully your spouse did not lie to CBP about intention to 'visit'? Spouse needs to be okay with not being able to travel or work for ~8 months, FYI.
  9. No impact to the immigration side of things. Personally, the ability to work and support a family immediately upon arrival could be a deciding factor.
  10. Interesting. What does the status say on USCIS.gov? They definitely do things out of order. My husband just received his 10 year GC, several days before the approval notice itself.
  11. I can actually see how that could happen when just typing a name, vs hand writing one’s normal signature..
  12. You wrote "escalation." Do you actually mean "expedite"? Those words have two different meanings. You have your interview appointment, yes?
  13. What do you mean? is it the NOA-1 I-797 receipt from the I129F petition? Save every shred of paper you get from USCIS.
  14. Reverse-scamming will be a thing.
  15. Confused, @Mike E? Again, I’m relating my personal experience (as is everyone responding to OP’s question).
  16. Not sure what your question is. Your visa has not been approved, so there’s nothing to do for now. You’re in administrative processing, which could last for many months or longer.
  17. We did not. Some here will advocate sending the kitchen sink for ROC. Ours was minimalist. We showed pics at our AOS interview, because the officer asked for them.
  18. Very doubtful she will get the visa.
  19. My first guess would be Pakistan, where it is legal, and not relevant if the petitioner lives in a U.S. state where first cousin marriage is illegal.
