  1. My wife filed for her mother on 07/07/2022. It has been almost 8 months and the case is still not at the NVC stage. If it's going to take another year to get an interview, then I think that we will file I-134A.
  2. USCIS does not provide a specific income requirement but I believe that I meet the income requirements. Definitely, if my siblings join. Multiple people can combine their resources inorder to show USCIS that there are enough resources. Also, I do not necessarily need to apply for all at the same time. I could sponsor 3 or 4 people every 2 or 3 months.
  3. I know that DR, Chile and Jamaica are not included. However, if the person is NOT a permanent resident, dual national or hold refugee status in another country, then the person is qualified for humanitarian parole. You are giving out information and yet you do not even know the rules.
  4. It goes straight to the USCIS site, which has very vague information. Anyway, I also considered sponsoring at least a dozen cousins and their kids living in Haiti, Dominican Republic, Chile, Jamaica, etc. Just not enough info to do it. I really do not want to be responsible for everything, including potentially high hospital bills.
  5. My wife filed for her mother in July 2022 and the I-130 is still pending. She is now considering filing I-134A, better known as the Biden Plan for Cuba, Haiti, Nicaragua, and Venezuela. If her mother is allowed to come to the U.S. under the "Biden Plan", can she stay until the I-130 is approved or would she have to go back to Haiti to complete the process? I would think that anyone entering the U.S. has to go through same medical and background check clearance. I could not get any answers from USCIS but wondering if there is a potential for any issues.
  6. My wife filed on 7-7-2022 and on 7-15-2022 it changed to Case Is Being Actively Reviewed By USCIS. It has been like that since. For most people, that is what happens and it can take 8-12 months before anything changes.
  7. I have received so many calls from people who are claiming to be my cousins and from people who I have not heard from in many years. Now they want to know how I'm doing.
  8. I have not seen a thread for July 2022 for filing for a parent and have decided to start one. My wife became a US citizen on June 23, 2022 and filed I-130 for her mother on July 7, 2022. On July 15, 2022, the status changed to Case Is Being Actively Reviewed By USCIS. No updates yet. Estimated time until case decision: 6 Months
  9. If your wife's parents are wealthy and they have gifted her a lot of money, then you are entitled to some of that money if you get divorced. You need a very good divorce attorney in order to get every dime you deserve from her. Especially since you feel that you have been scammed.
  10. You are separated but your husband still lives in the same house as you? If your husband lives somewhere else, then why would he be counted as part pf the household?
  11. My wife had her oath ceremony on June 23, 2022. In July, she filed I-130 to petition for her mother to enter the US with a green card.
