    Thanks. Just to confirm, if my wife (sponsor) meets the income requirements, I would still have to complete the I-864A in addition the her completing the I-864 because she has only worked a few months this year and has not worked since 2020?

    Does any of these match my scenario? My wife is the petitioner. We filed taxes jointly. I will likely have to be a sponsor. What form or forms do we file? I am not trying to make this complicated. I just want answers that match my scenario.

    It appears that this was an extremely difficult question that stumped all the visa journey members. I'll see if calling USCIS will be of any help. I may call 3 times to see if I get consistent answers. I guess that I will research this a bit more and decide on what to do. After all, the worst that can possibly happen is getting an RFE if the wrong form is sent.

    Mother should take less than 2 years from start to finish. However, if the brother is an adult, that could take at least 15 years.

    The sponsor portion and the required forms always seem to be the tricky part of the process. I did a little research and could not find the answer. My wife has petitioned for her mother. However my wife has only recently started to work again as we've had 2 kids in the last 3 years. As the petitioner, must my wife fill out the I-864 and must I also file another one as a joint sponsor? Since I would be a joint sponsor, is only one I-864 needed? Is I-864A needed? We have filed taxes jointly over the last 3 years. What is the correct procedure? Thanks.

    You should be going to visajourney first before you hire a lawyer. You should NOT hire a lawyer and then go to visajourney for help.

    I would think that your birth certificate with both parents name on it would be the main way to establish a connection. After all, it is possible for two parents to have a child and not necessarily be married.

    I guess that you can but I personally would rather leave that to the experts. If it were something that needed to be done very often, then I would try to do it myself but this is a one time thing. Paying $25 to $50 is miniscule when you compare it to the application fees.

    Are you asking us to guess how long it took to receive your passport with visa after the interview in Jerusalem? I am guessing that it took 1 day.

    Paid Affidavit of Support ($120) and IV ($325) fees. Waiting for everything to clear before submitting Immigrant Visa (IV) Application (form DS-260). Also contacted my wife's mother to start working on getting police certificate.

    So you want someone to travel to the US to be by your side 24 hours a day? I would imagine that the person would want to get compensated for all that time. You need to get a home health aid. They are paid to do such thing. The only way your sister could possibly enter the US quicker is if she has a certain skill that not many people have and that particular skill is what is needed to help you. The surgeries that you need, can they be done by competent doctors in Indonesia? I am sure that it would be much cheaper. If so, ask your insurance company if if there is any reimbursement if the surgeries are done in a foreign country.

    Here is the latest update on the I-130 petition. The above petition has been approved. As the petitioner requests, we have sent the petition to the U.S. Department of State National Visa Center (NVC), 32 Rochester Avenue, Portsmouth, NH 03801-2909. The NVC processes all approved immigrant visa petitions that need consular action, including the collection of necessary forms and documents. It also determines which consular post is appropriate to complete visa processing. The NVC will then transfer the approved petition to the consular post once processing has been completed and an interview has been scheduled at the Embassy or Consulate.

    You can also add our neighbor to the north. Canada has a better healthcare system than the United States.

    I initially stated that there a lot of other countries that provide provide more affordable and better health care than the United States. Have you ever heard of Belgium, Germany, Norway, France, Japan, Switzerland, etc? I did not say that the United States is the worst. However, they are certainly not the best.

    Free is not necessarily better quality. Many hospitals just do a lot of unnecessary tests, milk the insurance, including Medicaid. In the end, the health of many of these patients do not improve. The United States has a broken healthcare system.

    There are a lot of other countries that provide more affordable and better health care than the United States.

    If you are not yet married, then maybe meeting a US citizen and getting married could be the fastest route. When I say marriage, I mean a legitimate one where both of you love each other and want to stay with each other. The time to meet someone, get to know the person, establish a relationship and then getting married should take less than 5 years. That's definitely less than the potential 10-25 years it could take if your father or sibling files for you.

    Can she come to visit you in the US? The next step is to meet each other, not to marry. Does she talk about wanting to live in the US? Would she be okay if she decided to leave the US and then live in Kenya with her? You have to be able to determine whether she is trying to use you to get to the US.
