Hi all, (Sorry if this isn't the right forum) My wife entered the US on her IR-1 visa on June 15 from the Philippines, but as of yet I didn't pay the fee for her permanent resident card to be mailed to her due to financial reasons. This coming week I will pay, but I'm just wondering if there will be any issues due to the delay? She has her social security card/number already. I pay on the USCIS website correct? Thanks!

Social Security address delivery questions

Thanks, I'll do just that. -
Ah okay, that's very useful details to know about the process. My daughter got the discount, but I heard if you pay online maybe you don't get it. About the not enforcing e-travel on exit, that makes sense now that you explain it. Everything went buttery smooth really so thank you so much!

Thanks for sharing that! Just wondering, the Green Card is delivered automatically, they didn't apply in the US? -

Oh thank you for clarifying that. So would the AR-11 address change be for her Green Card delivery or is that already updated at the POE that is also for her SS delivery? -
Social Security address delivery questions

So I looked into it and the USCIS requires you to login to your USCIS account to do the address change. Will it be under the account I made for the I-130 to petition my wife or does my wife need to make her own account to update address? Thank you! -
Yes, my wife and daughter filled out all the etravel stuff but they never asked for the one way flight. I guess only if coming back.
-
Yes thank you, my daughter did get the discounted rate when they traveled last weekend.

Thank you, I'm glad that it's updated at the POE. -
Hi all, I am unsure which forum to post this in so hopefully I chose the right one. My wife just entered the US on her IR-1 visa from the Philippines a few days ago and I also moved fairly recently too and didn't update my address yet with immigration. On her DS-260 I had selected the option for her to get her social security number right away. From what I understand the SSA is supposed to mail her ss card to her a few weeks after entering the US and at the point of entry an immigration officer asked my wife her current address and appeared to update it on the spot. My questions are: 1). Would the address the immigration officer took from my wife be the one the SSA uses to mail her card to her? Or 2). If that isn't the case then how do we update our current address quickly so it doesn't go to my old address. Thank you so much!

Agreed, truthfully my family's residence will now be in the US. Thanks for the help!

Hi Topsecret, I had another question regarding the E-Travel registration. My wife and I were confused about the "Permanent Country of Residence" page (see attached photo). Does this mean where my wife will live with me in the US or her home residence in the Philippines? Thank you very much!
-
Ok, it's all good. Thank you very much for the helpful info!

Ok makes sense. My wife saw that you can pay the travel tax on the Philippine Airlines website so we will try that. Is there no discount for children for the tax? Thanks.
-
Yeah she has both. My wife had a CFO Certificate from 2018 and she went to get it revalidated and they gave her the sticker, not the digital version since she is not a new registrant they said. They said my daughter has no need for CFO because of her age and being a dual citizen.
-
Oh okay, that makes sense. Thanks for the clarification. My wife recently showed me that when she checked her airline tickets on the Philippine Airlines website that it shows we have missing information such as visa and passport information to enter. Is that just optional?
-
Good to hear they aren't too strict.
-
Hey thanks Topsecret, very useful help you provided. I put US Passport holder for my daughter's airline ticket, but I imagine that isn't really related to the E-Travel system and putting her as Filipino passport holder there?

Thank you for the advice, I appreciate the help.

Hi all, My Filipino wife and dual citizen 7 year old daughter will be flying from the Philippines to the US for the first time next week and I just wanted some clarification on the E-Travel process. My wife is traveling on an IR-1 visa and my daughter is already a US Citizen with a CRBA. I was told to register my wife within 72 hours of travel on etravel.gov.ph. Here are my questions: 1). I already created the etravel account, do I need to wait until 72 hours before to add my wife's info or is that done separately on the website for the actual flight? (See attached screenshot) 2). Do I need to include my dual citizen daughter on my wife's account or does she need her own E-Travel account? 3). There is a question that asks "what passport holder" you are. Should my daughter select Filipino or Foreign Passport? 4). If I make a mistake or miss something filling out the E-Travel is there opportunity to correct it at the airport? Thank you so much all!

I appreciate it top_secret. Thank you for the help and clarification.

Hi all, I know similar posts have been made and answered by topsecret and others already, but for my own piece of mind I wanted to make sure I don't miss anything. My wife (Filipino Citizen) and 7 year old daughter (born in Philippines, never left and a dual citizen of USA as well) will be leaving the Philippines next month to the US. My wife was just approved for her IR-1 VISA. So far I am aware we need the following for them to exit the Philippines: 1). CFO for Wife (General Guidance and Counseling) 2). Register with E-Travel system within 72 hrs of Departure (wife & daughter) 3). Paid Travel Tax for leaving Philippines first time (may or may not be included in airfare depending if purchased through 3rd party or not) 4). Filipino Passport for wife and US & Filipino passports for daughter 5). Proof of parental relationship between my wife and daughter (such as CRBA) Did I miss anything? Also, just to confirm we don't need a Travel Clearance for Minors from the DSWD for my daughter do we? From what I read she is EXEMPT from it due to her biological mother traveling with her. Thank you so much for any help!

Thank you for the clarification on that. I'm trying to figure out how to upgrade my wife's old CFO cert to the new digital version now.

Hey thank you for the detailed answer. It doesn't really have a reason on my wife's certificate, only the country United States of America. Also I went to the link you provided and it's true there is no Online Registration, you just have to show up in-person, no appointment? Does that sound right? Specifically it looks like we sort of fit the amendment category, but we don't necessary meet the stated criteria for getting an amendment. I'll paste below the reasons they say we are eligible for an amendment, which are either a change in civil status or an erroneous entry of which we have neither. We simply need the e-certificate/digital version. "Amendment of Counseling Certificate Filipino spouses, fiancé(e)s and other partners of foreign nationals or former Filipino citizens may request for subsequent amendment of the CFO guidance and counseling certificate when there is a change in their civil status or an erroneous entry in the certificate." Am I missing something? Thank you!
