Just now Finished my Oath Ceremony in Kansas City,MO.
Have Naturalization Certificate in hand. 
It was quick process.
Now will register to vote 
Apply for passport.
& Update Social security administration about my Citizenship.
 
As for passport application is considered I learnt that if you fill it online and print the form with the barcode and submit it to the post office, the barcode makes the computer process your passport within a week. I am gonna try that and see. 
Finally my almost 10 year immigration journey is Over. 
 
When my attorney did nothing, Visa journey came to my rescue and helped in each step along the way. 
I am very grateful for this forum and for each and everyone of you contributing to the knowledge in your own way.

The reason you have to do the first passport in person at an authorized agency is because there is a Oath that needs to be administered stating that everything is true to the best of your knowledge etc. This oath has to be administered verbally, and in person, that is why the first must be in person. As others have stated, do not get photos done at the post office, as they are pricey, better to get them done anywhere else, I do mine myself for about .19 cents for 6 photos using a app on my phone. Never had an issue with my own photos thru the whole process of immigration, or renewing passports. For renewals you just send in your old passport, a form and a fee. Now, I have renewed hundreds of passports for people, and I am going to give you some tips.... don't worry about them losing your certificate, I have done hundreds and they have never lost a certificate, or anyone's birth certificate. Not saying it couldn't happen, but I would think it is extremely rare. If you want to speed up the process without paying extra, best thing to do is fill out the application online directly at the government site. When you fill it out online before you go to the post office or wherever, it allows you to print the application with a special 3-D barcode on the top of the first page. When they receive the application they only scan the first page, verify your information and create the passport. The barcoded ones always get processed faster in my experience as it is less work for the employees because they don't have to manually enter all the info, and because most government workers are notoriously lazy, the less work you make for them the faster they will pull your application out of the stack, they see barcode, they think easy day. If you have any other questions, I have done many passports, and can help you out if needed.

Well, this chapter is over for me. I had my Oath ceremony today, certificate in hand. Next step is to work on getting a passport. Hang in there January filers, cause very soon you will be done.

Relax. You do go into a room, usually at a post office.  The agent reviews your form, checks your id an makes sure that your passport photo is within guidelines.  Then you go pay at the counter and take the receipt back to the agent. 
Painless transaction.

Haha. True. Just now coming out of my interview! And I Passed. It was easiest phase of the entire immigration process.
It took about 20 minutes for the process and I was in and out of the USCIS building quick. I had my interview at Kansas City , field office.
I got a sweetest elderly lady officer.
She asked me 6 civics questions and yes and no questions, read and write test. Confirmed my personal information. Thats it.
Told me i had passed.
 
But I have to wait for OATH ceremony since it has to be done ina court house infront of a judge. 
So she told me that i will receive an invitation to Oath Ceremony in the coming days via mail and then i should attend and apply for passport. 
 
So that is left. 
 
Overall my 7 year immigration journey is almost over. Thanks to this forum. Which has helped me way more than any attorney could have. 

Hello all;
 
I attended my Oath ceremony today. It started at 2.15 pm on the dot and took about 10 mins maximum. We checked in and returned our GC was seated inside the ceremony room afterwards. There was about 20 people attending. IO was very quickly had us took the Oath of Alliance and we were done. There was another ceremony of 20 people before and after us so they are doing ceremonies non stop. I am glad i conclude my immigration journey as of today. Now headed to Passports forums you can find me hanging there
