I have a question for my friend. She is a US citizen, has been married for about 20 years and recently got a divorce. She has been separated from her x husband for more than a year and has been filing Taxes "married filing separately" for the past few years. The divorce was finalized about a couple of months ago and it was an easy process with no issues at all. She is in her upper 40's. She never filed for her x husband for any immigration benefits.
She has been talking to her fiance for a few months. She has just visited him overseas. He is 10 years younger than her (he is in his upper 30's), and he has never been married before.
She (the US citizen) knows she wants this relationship and she is very serious about it. He also wants her and is in love with her. They plan to get married once he moves out here to the US on a K1 visa.
The question is: Are they going to face problems due to the age gap between the two of them? or is this not an issue? She is the older one, could this be an issue for the K1 process?
