I believe that America is the number 1 in human rights violations. That's what I'm experiencing everyday!
I wished my wife was inclined to move to a better country.
If this is your attitude, perhaps you need to learn a western proverb, " it is easier to catch a fly with honey than vinegar"
Is America perfect? Far from it, but do not denigrate the country you CHOSE to live in because you have failed to realize your goals, redouble your efforts, soften your attitude and you will reach your goals. Just remember you chose to come here for whatever reasons you may have, the country did not solicit your immigration

Why don't you fill in your timeline so you have some estimated dates and can worry a bit less? Plus - your data helps others after you and makes future estimates more accurate

Long story short....hired immigration lawyer, told me he filed April 12,...I checked "nada". Finally figured it out thru the many wonderful people here.
True date is what I posted.
USCIS I figured does denials on expedited request on some.
It's been a roller coaster ride and money I could have saved but I can't back out now because I invested in my lawyer.
I just want the happiness and the love to be reality in a NOA2 arrival.
I'm gonna wait like all of us here....All of OUR journeys have beautiful stories and that is more then anything to read.
You beautiful people are truly genuine and this has helped tremendously.
    Thank you.

Send a letter and copy of death certificate, and Case number on the letter, explain what happened so your file can be closed. Yes someone can petition for you in the future, and if question is ask, just tell them all that happened, it will not effect your case if you are petitioned for again in distant future. But if it is very soon after this filing and delays, That is a HUGH Red flag.
Keep copies for your records too.
Sorry for your loss, take time for yourself, then get back into life, she would not want to see you miserable.

Your fiance just died and you are concerned about being able to petitioned for in the future? Seriously?
Sorry for your loss. Focus on moving on from the loss rather than obsessing about going to the US.

    Not to be rude...
But let everyone tell you sorry for your loss....
Mixing a thread about fiancees death and asking can you reapply sounds heartless.
I gave the answer. (After a prudent time it should be ok) it is not you fault she passed on. But if you apply tomorrow, it will look suspect??.
    Again sorry for your loss.

What privileges do Asian Americans have?
Asian Americans are held to much high bar for College Entry Admissions compared to other minorities.
In my company who has 4 or 5 retrenchments since I been there, 99% people laid off were white people which I find it strange (there are many nationalities and people of colors).
I asked around, the general answer I got is the company is afraid of lawsuits from people of colors for bias retrenchment.
The safest bet is to lay off white people who can't complain.

1, This country gives out billions of dollars to overseas and other random countries. We have neighborhoods looking like war zones right outside of the nation's capitol. It can be done, but I know there would be too much resistance.
    2. I mean white people right now here in this place. It's touchy because the folks here that respond this kind of dialogue aren't trying to have in it an educational way. As val pointed out, hearing reparations for black people automatically renders a negative response. I give props to Unsmiley and Randy for giving some insight, but the rest is white noise(pun intended).
    3. It wasn't aimed at you.
    4. And even if you were an unemployed WV, you'd still have more privilege than me in a 3 piece suit wearing glasses, working for the federal government, and abstaining from alcohol. Trust me.
Asian Americans do get privilege of the same type, but since this country is over 65% white, there's no reason to label it Asian privilege.
As for mystical, there's been hundreds of studies, experiments, and trials that prove without a doubt that white privilege is real as the nose on your face. Direct correlations showing that the situation will ALWAYS be different based on the color of one's skin.

Japanese reparations were paid to only surviving internees. Estates / Decendents didn't receive money.
In the case of Native Americans, the reparations were not for treatment or loss but for legally held lands that the US took.
Based upon these, the last opportunity for reparations died with the last living slave. That being said, I could see reparations being granted to survivors of Jim Crow laws etc.

My family came to the US as immigrants in 1919, I am pretty sure I had no slave holding relatives, am I merely supposed to pay reparations because of my skin color? That concept itself is racist.
I grew up in public housing, was forced bussed to satisfy a requirement in Boston city schools to serve racial quotas. I have a black son n law and a mixed race daughter in law, I am marrying an Asian, I am pretty sure my diversity is good enough without giving handouts because of any notion by others that I should have guilt for being a member of a particular race.
I make up to those I personally wrong, I am not driven by collective guilt.

You should have nothing to worry about if you already have all the well formulated letters supporting his sobriety from psychiatrists etc People with past substance abuse and/or mental history have been approved of visas as long as they've had letters stating that they're not a harm to themselves or other people just dont forget to bring these letters to the medical! Wishing you the best of luck <3

We will start having a NOA2 party on this thread before we know it. Stay positive and keep the hope. 50 days or 100 days in the end we will be with our loved ones forever. I will admit some days are harder than others but we have to keep the hope alive and know that one day they will be here.

    Hi,
My fiance has a history of substance use and spent a year in rehab several years ago. He now works at the rehab, and has been drug free for multiple years. The director, social worker, and nurse supervisor at the rehab have all written letters attesting to his character and drug-free status, and he also has a letter from his psychiatrist stating that he has been stable and drug free for over two years.
We are wondering if anyone has had experience with the visa process with a similar history, and if there's anything else we can do at this point to prepare for any issues that might occur because of his past?
Our I-129F has been approved and sent to NVC, and we're waiting for an update from the consulate regarding scheduling.
Thanks so much for any info you can offer!
