About 2-3 weeks after an expedite request for my EAD, I received my combo card! Talking to lawyers in the area, everyone had said it's unlikely to work but go ahead and give it a shot. If you are waiting for an EAD for a job offer like I was, definitely worth trying.

How did you put in an expedite request? Was that from the initial filling of it?

I called them and asked for expedite, saying I have a job offer and might face financial hardship if I cant accept on time. They emailed me asking for copy of job offer. I sent them that. I'm not sure if that went through in the end though, they said nothing about my expedite request.

I've been having problems with the online updates too. Well, still can't check my status online till now so I really can't check on the progress of my case. I had my bio appt last May 13 and haven't received any letters in the mail. So, now I don't know what I'm waiting for.

It's been unnerving that the receipt numbers were not working until now. Today, my EAD case also got to "new card being produced". I did a walk-in bio appointment on the 3rd of may. I did also put in an expedite request, not sure if that played any role at all. Your progress should be just around the corner

My case is also finally updated, ready to be scheduled for interview! My receipt numbers weren't recognized until now.
