  1. I agree with that statement as long as it applies to EVERYONE.
  2. You have to wait until NVC schedules your interview. They will then send the case to your consulate.
  3. ***Let's keep this thread on topic of Green Cards for foreign students. There are other threads where we can discuss candidates****
  4. We all know a lot of foreign students come to the US with hopes of finding employment in the US. I suspect there would be specific qualifiers if this ever came to fruition.
  5. I uploaded a request letter when wife applied online. Wife's Name Address August 7, 2022 US Citizenship & Immigration Services P.O. Box 25920 Overland, KS 66225 Dear USCIS Officer Please consider this letter as an official request for a combination I-751/N-400 interview or waiver of the I-751 interview. We submitted my joint I-751 petition in March of 2019. My biometrics was completed in May of 2019. The status of my I-751, case number MSCXXXXXX has been “Case is ready to be scheduled for an interview” since May 2019. I have received no RFEs or requests of any kind. Sincerely, Wife's Name
  6. Lease agreement, job searches, concrete steps toward actually moving to the US. Consulate officers are the sole approval authority for visas.
  7. Absolutely does not need to go, imo. Many Americans do not understand the importance of our electoral college system or the importance of STATES rights which were established in the Constitution. There is no national election for President. There are 51 separate elections. We are a union of 50 individual states and the District of Columbia. A popular vote across the entire union would diminish the votes of less populated rural states. Without the Electoral College, Presidential candidates could campaign in only a few states......because the votes and the opinions of voters in less populated areas would be worthless. I believe there is no better system, than the Electoral College, for our union of 50 states. Note: When someone says, "Candidate X is leading in the popular vote", just remember, it is meaningless because there is no real "popular vote". - My opinion Here is an opinion article which explains why we should keep the EC. Killing the Electoral College would turn rural Americans into serfs (usatoday.com) "Should rural and small-town Americans be reduced to serfdom? The American Founders didn’t think so. This is one reason why they created checks and balances, including the Electoral College. " "The Electoral College requires more than just the most raw votes to win — it requires geographic balance. This helps to protect rural and small-town Americans."
  8. It is moot since they have your package now. It won't affect your case. It is not uncommon for there to be a delay in processing after delivery.
  9. ***Multiple copied and pasted comments removed. Please do not spam threads***
  10. You're right. That thing has "suspicious" written all over it. Notice the "www.state.gov" That is not a secure url. This is a fishing expedition as indicated by the "To whom it may concern" and the lack of information, imho.
  11. Material misrepresentation carries a perma-ban from any entry into the US. A waiver is still needed. Marriage doesn't negate the misrepresentation. Did an attorney file the I-601 for you?
  12. Here we go again........witch hunt. "Show me the man and I'll show you the crime." - Lavrentiy Beria, Secret Police Chief to Josef Stalin
  13. You might find some useful data here: IR-1/CR-1 Spouse Visa US Immigration Timelines for Turkey - SORT : Last Update - DESC (visajourney.com)
  14. ***Moved from IR-1/CR-1 forum to Moving to The US and Your New Life In America forum***
  15. How did you originally enter the US? If you came into the US legally 20 years ago, just get married and concurrently file an I-130 and an I-485. The law already allows you to apply for a Green Card... if you entered legally...even 20 years ago.
  16. Not an issue. The NOA2 validity date is irrelevant. Just arrive in the US before the K-1 visa expires....and marry within 90 days.
  17. Looks like qualifying income to me. Good luck on your Visa Journey..
  18. Almost everyone says the N-400 process is easiest of all the parts of immigration. That was the case with us.
  19. The VJ member reported average processing from filing to interview is 20 months (CR-1) vs 14 months (K-1). But the time to a Green Card is faster with a spousal visa.
