    Yes, you can. However, it might be much more cumbersome than a few years ago....especially for anyone remaining outside the US for an extensive amount of time. That would be my concern. Besides, the OP has stated he is not planning travel until Green Card is issued.

    This is something that I have thought about a lot. It seems to be that this policy could change with the stroke of a pen. But, I haven't seen any indication that will happen, and I'm not sure how they would implement such a change.

    My wife's case took 13 months from I-130 submission to spousal visa in hand......but that, as is your case also, irrelevant to the OP's case.

    Your plan may be a great one for you. We are just providing info. My concerns would be: 1. There is recent evidence that processing of I-129Fs might be slowing. This could mean a shift in USCIS priorities. So far, a few data miners have reported it. That hasn't shown up in the Visa Journey average processing time yet. 2. The limbo period between a K-1 marriage and receiving a Green Card is much more difficult than some have thought. Like I said, it's your journey. I hope it is a smooth one.

    No. A person cannot enter the US as a visitor with the intent to stay and adjust status. That is visa fraud. She will receive an interview letter when her case reaches the front of the queue at NVC for her consulate. Patience is the big key in US immigration.

    Not sure what you mean by "shotgun e-wedding via Utah". That is a viable, legal marriage in the eyes of USCIS and DOS. Our recommendations are the result of years of seeing many, many cases like your case. However,it's your decision and your journey. Life is full of choices and consequences. Good luck on your K-1.     If you mean the medical exam, there is good reason not to book it too early since all medical exams expire after 6 months. That determines the expiration date of an issued visa. Visas expire when the medical exam expires.

    You can get a joint sponsor if your current annual income and assets are not sufficient. On another topic, health care costs for a senior citizen should be a consideration when sponsoring parents. Good luck on your journey.

    One more thing. Remember that a new immigrant who obtains a Green card when married less than 2 years MUST file a form I-751 to remove conditions at the end of 2 years as a Green card holder. It is a hassle, and it could interfere with your travel plans as a Green card holder.

    No. No problem in applying. A denial or approval will not affect a K-1 or a spousal visa.

    For a K-1 entrant, a Green Card comes upon approval of an I-485, application for Adjustment of Status. That is submitted after marriage. It could take a year or more after application. That is when the 3 year clock for citizenship would start. A spousal visa entrant can start traveling outside the US immediately. Life is full of choices and consequences.
