  1. Hong Kong is, indeed, listed separately with document reciprocity. Hong Kong (state.gov)
  2. OK. I think you're right if this is to show there is no W-2. I would make it clear in the letter.
  3. Foreign tax transcripts are irrelevant to this process. US tax returns and proof of current annual income are relevant.
  4. I don't think this is accurate. Green Card holders and citizens are required to report world-wide income regardless of where they live. However, it is true that you could be classified as a dual-status alien for 2022. You would then have to report all income from the time you became a legal resident.
  5. Great post! Personally, I think the fact that that you can finally get away from USCIS as a huge benefit. Without filing your N-400, who knows how long it will take for USCIS to process your I-751. In addition, becoming a citizen is less expensive in the long term. In my wife's case, I think the China/Taiwan situation played a significant part in her decision to apply.
  6. Are you sure you completely submitted them? Is there a "submit" button?
  7. I think it will be fine. In addition, once you marry, the petition will be voided anyway. I'm sure you know the spousal visa processing time is pretty long, too. Good luck. It will not affect a spousal visa case.
  8. Of course. Everyone is free to make their own choices. and a fully educated couple makes better choices for themselves. Every couple has their own priorities, and each couple must decide which visa is better for their situation. K-1 More expensive than CR-1 Requires Adjustment of Status after marriage (expensive and requires a lot of paperwork) Spouse can not leave the US until she/he receives approved Advance Parole (approx 6-8 months) Spouse can not work until she/he receives EAD (approx 6-8 months) Some people have had problems with driver licenses, Social Security cards, leases, bank account during this period Spouse will not receive Green Card for many months after Adjustment of Status is filed. A K-1 might be a better choice when 18-21 year old children are immigrating also In some situations, marriage can affect certain Home country benefits, making a K-1 a better choice A denied K-1 is sent back to USCIS to expire CR-1 Less expensive than K-1 No Adjustment of Status(I-485, I-131, I-765) required. Spouse can immediately travel outside the US Spouse is authorized to work immediately upon arrival. Spouse receives Social Security Card and Green Card within 2 or 3 weeks after entering the US Opening a bank account, getting a driver's license, etc. are very easily accomplished with GC, SS card, and passport. Spouse has legal permanent Resident status IMMEDIATELY upon entry to US.
  9. I am learning. On what basis can they adjust status? I read that U4U does not offer a direct path to a Green Card.
  10. That is not accurate. CURRENT annual income is important. That is evidenced by a letter from current employer or CURRENT pay stubs. Tax returns or transcripts confirm what was previously earned in the previous tax year, not what she is currently earning. Current annual income is calculated as follows: Gross income from most recent pay period paystub multiplied by number of pay periods per year= Current annual income Example: Most recent monthly pay stub indicates $5000 salary = $60,000 current annual income.
  11. Your wife should fill out a new I-864 and attach supporting documentation and proof of higher salary. The parents should take those documents to the interview. That's all you need to do.
  12. Maybe. Many Pakistan cases undergo extended Administrative Processing before a visa is issued. It could add weeks, months to the process.
  13. Yes, a SS Card should be sent automatically if you marked the box on the DS-260. There is no tracking. If you don't receive it after a few months, you can go to a SSA office and inquire.
  14. OK. Then, the OP should marry SOMEWHERE, then start the spousal visa process. The point is that a spousal visa is the fastest way to a GC. What other issues in the future?
  15. *****I moved this threat to the Thailand regional forum area where is it likely to attract more members who can answer****
  16. Usually, that is due to incorrect input of the numbers. But, I'd try again tomorrow.
  17. That doesn't make sense to me. The local field office is who adjudicates I-485s and/or waives interviews.
  18. If your interview was waived, I assume USCIS will send you a Green Card next.
