  6. The opposite. Applying as a 5 year Green Card holder is easier.
  7. If you are eligible, file under the 5 year rule. There is no penalty for being married to a US citizen. In addition, there is less paperwork and no bona fide marriage evidence required under the 5 year rule. There is no difference in speed either way.

  9. It could take a few weeks to a year or more from DQ to interview being scheduled. It depends on the queue for your consulate at NVC. Here is the process for immigrant visas: 1. Case is DQ'd by NVC. 2. Case then enters NVC queue for your consulate and waits at NVC. 3. Consulate informs NVC of available interview date for upcoming month. 4. NVC schedules interviews for cases at the front of the line. 5. NVC schedules your interview when your case reaches the front of the queue for that consulate. 6. NVC notifies person of interview date via email. 7. NVC then sends case to consulate. After the interview is scheduled, it can take several days to several weeks for the consulate to receive the case. You might want to check the more recent timelines from Poland here on VJ.

  11. Looks normal under the circumstances. I wouldn't worry about it at this point. Keeping his passport is a good sign. I wouldn't be surprised if it takes longer than 2 weeks. Good luck.
  12. ***Derailing comment and replies removed. Please keep questions regarding your case in your thread***
  13. I stopped flying with SW because when I was running late from a business meeting, I ALWAYS ended up finding only a middle seat between a couple of over-sized passengers when I boarded. I would have welcomed the opportunity to select a seat beforehand.
  14. 1. Immediately file an I-130 for child. 2. Immediately ask USCIS for an expedite for the child 3. Immediately contact NVC and tell them to delay the interview for wife until child's case is DQ due to your naturalization.
  15. ***Moved to Bringing Family Members of US Citizens to America forum as OP is asking about wife's sibling***
  16. Since consulate processes differ from country to country, I have moved this discussion to the Europe & Eurasia regional forum.
  17. Yes. USCIS just wants to see a solid paper trail showing where you lived. My wife's officer wanted to see the paper trail for us, too. ***Moved to the US Citizenship forum area***
  18. NVC does not schedule K-1 interviews. What consulate will conduct the interview?
  19. As long as NVC has the case, you contact them. Once an interview date is scheduled, you contact the consulate.
