  3. Primary sponsor (petitioner) fills in an I-864. Joint sponsor fills in an I-864 Household member adding income fills in an I-864A Are you trying to combine incomes with her?
  4. Thank goodness. I lost the paper copy of my wife's appointment.....Luckily, I had seen the interview letter online a week or so before.
  5. That might be a very valid point. Your visa is at the will of the employer, is it not?
  6. That scam is run a LOT on Craig's List. The scammer overpays for an item with a bad check, then wants a refund of the overage. It is also used in other "job" schemes. The scammer overpays the first week's salary, then wants a refund.
  7. That person is NOT a permanent resident after gaining citizenship. The answer is zero
  8. Yes. and if you have EVER been out of status, you can NEVER adjust status through your brother. That means, you can't just illegally hang around until that time comes. I don't see any way for you to stay in the US legally that long.
  9. That is a classic scam. That has been happening for years.

  11. There are a lot of variables and multiple tax filing strategies in LPR year #1. One of the most important variables is the earned income amount for both spouses during the entire year. I always think it's a good idea to seek a competent, knowledgeable tax expert who will run the numbers for the various strategies in the first tax year.
  12. Assuming the OP filed to remove conditions when the 90 day window opened (OP stated he/she filed 27 months ago), he/she is very near or beyond the 24 month extension date today.
  13. What have you done to maintain residency? I think you abandoned your LPR status. I think you are subject to severe scrutiny when you reach the border. Good luck.
  14. Does anyone actually send out original W-2s these days? I remember getting carbon copies many years ago, but I have been printing them online for years.
  15. You are the primary sponsor. You might want to read this. You need one well-qualified joint sponsor and spouse. Strategies When an Immigrant's Sponsor's Income and Assets Are Too Low | Nolo " If no one in the sponsor's household can help boost the sponsor's income and assets, you can look for a joint sponsor outside the household. Each sponsor needs to meet the basic sponsorship requirements. An independent joint sponsor must also be pretty well off financially. Unlike household joint sponsors, joint sponsors who live outside the household will need to earn enough to cover the entire Poverty Guidelines minimum requirement for their own household and for the incoming immigrant or immigrants (if children will also be coming). The joint sponsor cannot simply make up the main sponsor's shortfall. It is as though they were the sole sponsor. In fact, they must sign a separate Form I-864 Affidavit of Support. Like the household joint sponsor, an independent sponsor can be held 100% responsible for supporting the immigrant. If there is more than one incoming immigrant, there can be up to two joint sponsors. This can be helpful, for example, where the incoming immigrants include an adult and two children, and neither of the joint sponsors earn enough to meet the minimum Poverty Guidelines for all three immigrants. As long as one of these joint sponsors earns enough to meet the Poverty Guidelines minimum for one immigrant, and the other joint sponsor earns enough to meet the Poverty Guidelines minimum for the other two immigrants, the I-864 requirements are met."
  16. As of right now, your petition for your brother will take about 15 years. If your mother becomes a US citizen, yes.
