  1. Extension letters extend the date printed on the Green Card. They don't extend previous extension letters. Filing an I-751 already gets a 24 month extension letter.
  2. Sounds like the CO has serious doubts about the relationship. The ONLY cure for that is to spend a lot of time together. You might want to consider marrying, then living together outside the US. Your K-1 is dead. It will expire at USCIS.
  3. From my interpretation, it doesn't. It regards filing of I-90s. USCIS doesn't seem to care that I-751 processing is taking well beyond 24 months (extension letter). I-751 filers still have to get an ADIT stamp if needed. "Prior to this change, under USCIS policy, naturalization applicants who did not apply for naturalization at least six months before their Green Card expiration date needed to file Form I-90, Application to Replace Permanent Resident Card (Green Card), to maintain proper documentation of their lawful status."
  4. I don't understand your concern. What problem of perception? There is not a reason, to my knowledge, to refuse an SSN. In fact, there are benefits in having one as soon as possible.
  5. You can add non-taxable income to current annual income, but you have to list the amount your 1040 shows for each tax year.
  6. So, they got a receipt one day after filing a paper application???? This timeline looks odd.
  7. This is outrageous! We paid for service from USCIS!!!! We are following the rules, yet we have to wait, and wait, and wait! This a violation of our civil rights....It really (censored) me off!!!!!!
  8. Congratulations!!!!! I hope to have this over soon, too...
  9. 1. Correspondence will be via email. Document copies will be uploaded online unless you mail them. 2, I have never seen them ask for original documents until the interview. Normally, he will need HIS original civil documents. 3. The only tax documents will be YOUR US taxes. They will be uploaded along with your I-864. He should also take copies of those documents to the interview if required by the consulate.
  10. Have you both actually been in the same place either during or after the marriage? You cannot start the process until then. 1. He will not receive anything at his address until the visa is issued. All correspondence will be via email. 2. Do not send original document to USCIS or NVC unless directed to do so. 3. He will need his original civil documents for the interview. 4. See #2 above.
  11. Many have tried and failed when the circumstance was related to the foreign beneficiary instead of the US citizen. Good luck. Why not just contact USCIS yourself?
  12. It's a totally different case. A previous IR case has no bearing on a later IR case. I assume you are trying to expedite.
  13. The number of people seeking help during the enormous backlog.
  14. No. Every case is different. Every case requires a different set of documents to be reviewed. Every case starts at the back of the queue.
  15. We recently filed my wife's N-400 online. It was easy. Received the receipt immediately.
  16. Every couple has their own priorities, and each couple must decide which visa is better for their situation. K-1 More expensive than CR-1 Requires Adjustment of Status after marriage (expensive and requires a lot of paperwork) Spouse can not leave the US until she/he receives approved Advance Parole (approx 6-8 months) Spouse can not work until she/he receives EAD (approx 6-8 months) Some people have had problems with driver licenses, Social Security cards, leases, bank account during this period Spouse will not receive Green Card for many months after Adjustment of Status is filed. A K-1 might be a better choice when 18-21 year old children are immigrating also In some situations, marriage can affect certain Home country benefits, making a K-1 a better choice A denied K-1 is sent back to USCIS to expire CR-1 Less expensive than K-1 No Adjustment of Status(I-485, I-131, I-765) required. Spouse can immediately travel outside the US Spouse is authorized to work immediately upon arrival. Spouse receives Social Security Card and Green Card within 2 or 3 weeks after entering the US Opening a bank account, getting a driver's license, etc. are very easily accomplished with GC, SS card, and passport. Spouse has legal permanent Resident status IMMEDIATELY upon entry to US.
  17. Why would a letter be needed? USCIS will know when you don't provide evidence of those things. CONCENTRATE ON WHAT YOU DO HAVE. The best evidence, at this point, is evidence of time spent together.
  18. She is such a liar...."Our choice was Brittany or no one at all". I guarantee this deal was initiated by the US to get one person...only.
  19. I have seen tattoos with connections to some groups/gangs result in a denial.
