  1. I-751/N-400 Combo interview conducted this afternoon at the Dallas Field Office. Appointment was at 1:00PM. We were called about 1:30PM. Officer wanted to see evidence from filing the I-751 until now. He reviewed both our driver's licenses, bank accounts, credit card accounts, Cred it Cards, apartment leases (with signature page), Car Insurance. He said, " You meet the requirements for I-751". After the I-751 interview, he said "Now, we will start the N-400 interview". He gave me the choice of either staying in the room or going back out to the waiting room. My wife chose to do the interview alone. He then escorted me back out. About 30 minutes later, the officer escorted my wife out to meet me. She says she was asked the 6 easiest questions among the 100 possible ones. Who is the current US President, for example. I'm glad that interview is done!!! Now, we wait for the oath ceremony!!!
  2. Update: I-751/N-400 Combo interview conducted this afternoon at the Dallas Field Office. Appointment was at 1:00PM. We were called about 1:30PM. Officer wanted to see evidence of marriage from filing the I-751 (2019) until now. Officer wanted to see evidence of marriage since I-751 filing. I showed him both our driver's licenses, bank accounts, credit card accounts, Credit Cards, apartment leases (with signature page), Car Insurance. He said, " You meet the requirements for I-751". After the I-751 interview, he said "Now, we will start the N-400 interview". He gave me the choice of either staying in the room or going back out to the waiting room. 3. One of the requirements for a non-immigrant visa such as an F-1 is NO IMMIGRANT intent.
  4. No legal immigration path for her is fast. Both the K-1 and CR-1 can take close to 18-24 months. Entering the US as a non-immigrant with the intent to immigrate is fraud. Every couple has their own priorities, and each couple must decide which visa is better for their situation. K-1 More expensive than CR-1 Requires Adjustment of Status after marriage (expensive and requires a lot of paperwork) Spouse can not leave the US until she/he receives approved Advance Parole (approx 6-8 months) Spouse can not work until she/he receives EAD (approx 6-8 months) Some people have had problems with driver licenses, Social Security cards, leases, bank account during this period Spouse will not receive Green Card for many months after Adjustment of Status is filed. A K-1 might be a better choice when 18-21 year old children are immigrating also In some situations, marriage can affect certain Home country benefits, making a K-1 a better choice A denied K-1 is sent back to USCIS to expire CR-1 Less expensive than K-1 No Adjustment of Status(I-485, I-131, I-765) required. Spouse can immediately travel outside the US Spouse is authorized to work immediately upon arrival. Spouse receives Social Security Card and Green Card within 2 or 3 weeks after entering the US Opening a bank account, getting a driver's license, etc. are very easily accomplished with GC, SS card, and passport. Spouse has legal permanent Resident status IMMEDIATELY upon entry to US.
  5. The consulate will provide instructions if the re-issue is approved. The CO has the discretion of re-issuing.
  6. Two separate cases require 2 separate expedite requests. I would put both in the same letter.
  7. I think you are right. I'll report tomorrow afternoon after our combo interview at the Dallas FO.
  8. Everything is stupid: EVERYTHING IS STUPID!! (VOLUME 20) - YouTube
  9. You realize that they are separate cases, right? An immediate relative a US citizen cannot have derivatives. That means 2 separate I-130s.
  10. I would travel via VWP. DO NOT OVERSTAY!!! I would not travel back to the US for at least 6 months....or longer. EVERY entry into the US is at the discretion of the CBP officer.
  11. Visa Waiver Program.... UK is a VWP country...Why do you need a B2 visa to visit the US?
  12. Sounds like the current "normal" I-751 processing times. Some of us have been in your shoes a lot longer. Your I-751 case is with USCIS. It is not with NVC or the consulate. This is not considered a "second" interview. Good luck.
  13. Just answer every question truthfully. No one here will encourage otherwise.
  14. Interesting. My wife's N-400/I-751 interview is tomorrow . I don't think you need to worry about that "canceled" status.
  15. You can try, but expediting for childcare (when you could hire someone) might not work. There are, likely, people waiting in front of your parents.
  16. No person can enter the US as a visitor with the intent to stay and adjust status. To do so is fraud. You might be surprised to see how much inaccurate information we see from attorneys.
  17. Just received an email from Dallas USCIS Field Office which says we WILL have a combo interview on Wednesday!!!! 😁 It came from this email address: USCISNATZCeremony@uscis.dhs.gov "USCIS Applicant, This email is in reference to your upcoming interview at the Dallas Field Office, it is for an I751(Petition to Remove Conditions) and N400 (Application for Naturalization) combination. It is imperative that your spouse accompany you to this interview, also that you bring proof of a marital union. Please refer to https://www.uscis.gov/i-751 for examples. We look forward to meeting each you both at your interview in the near future."
