  1. Waste of time, imo. But, if it makes a person feel better, go for it. Please fill in your timeline.
  2. Interesting. Sounds like the CO is resolving any final doubts about the relationship. I don't think the AP will last long. I think you'll see the status change to issued soon. Good luck.
  3. I assume this phone call was after the initial visa interview.
  4. AP cannot be expedited or even estimated. What was their focus during the phone call?
  5. Please fill in your VJ timeline. The phone interview is quite unusual. Who conducted the phone call? The consulate?
  6. Congratulations!!! My wife is "in the same boat" over here in Dallas. Her status changed to 'Oath Ceremony will be Scheduled' two days ago immediately after our combo interview. Filing I-751 to approval= 44 months Filing N-400 to approval= 4 months We're so very, very close to the end!!!!!!!!
  7. 1. Many, many people visit via ESTA without difficulty during the immigration process. 2. You are wise to consider the restrictions associated with a K-1. Every couple has their own priorities, and each couple must decide which visa is better for their situation. K-1 More expensive than CR-1 Requires Adjustment of Status after marriage (expensive and requires a lot of paperwork) Spouse can not leave the US until she/he receives approved Advance Parole (approx 6-8 months) Spouse can not work until she/he receives EAD (approx 6-8 months) Some people have had problems with driver licenses, Social Security cards, leases, bank account during this period Spouse will not receive Green Card for many months after Adjustment of Status is filed. A K-1 might be a better choice when 18-21 year old children are immigrating also In some situations, marriage can affect certain Home country benefits, making a K-1 a better choice A denied K-1 is sent back to USCIS to expire CR-1 Less expensive than K-1 No Adjustment of Status(I-485, I-131, I-765) required. Spouse can immediately travel outside the US Spouse is authorized to work immediately upon arrival. Spouse receives Social Security Card and Green Card within 2 or 3 weeks after entering the US Opening a bank account, getting a driver's license, etc. are very easily accomplished with GC, SS card, and passport. Spouse has legal permanent Resident status IMMEDIATELY upon entry to US.
  8. The end of calendar year 2022 is meaningless to the visa process. Take your time and submit everything properly. It appears your VJ timeline needs to be updated.
  9. It means the officer, for some reason, could not IMMEDIATELY issue the visa. It is very common. Just be patient. THIS IS NOT A DENIAL.
  10. Update: Wife's I-751 status just changed (within the last couple hours) to : "Case was approved"!!!
  11. Update: I-751 status just changed (within the last couple hours) to : "Case was approved"!!!
  12. They will if everything was not included when the I-129f was submitted. Otherwise, they won't contact the petitioner until approval.
  13. Our I-751 status still shows "ready to be scheduled for an interview"....LOL. N-400 status is as shown above. "Oath Ceremony will be scheduled". I-751 took 44 months, and N-400 took about 4 months from filing.
  14. Last week, someone reported theirs took 14 months .
  15. Your paying for them is not helpful. Seems less expansive for you to travel there.
  16. As stated in your other thread, she cannot board a plane with an expired 2 year green card and an expired extension letter. She needs to return this week.
  17. Did you post this earlier under a different user name? Green card expiring even with 24 month extension letter - Working & Traveling During US Immigration - VisaJourney
  18. Your post is a little unclear. You really need to fill in a VJ timeline to assist us in seeing dates. If you are saying that your extension letter expires on Dec 23, 2022, then you need to re-enter the US on or before that date. You cannot board a plane with an expired 2 year green card and expired extension letter. Your N-400 application is irrelevant to this situation.
  19. If they meet all the requirements of a joint sponsor, yes. Taxes, Domicile and sufficient income and/or assets are the keys.
  20. The guide is a good place to start: IR1 / CR1 Spouse Visa Step-by-Step Guide on Filing an I-130 for a US Spouse Visa - US Immigration & Visa Guides - VisaJourney
  21. ***Moved from IR-/CR-1 spousal visa process to the Philippines regional discussion area for country specific questions***
