  1. No such animal to my knowledge. Please provide a directive that dictates that.
  2. Court order? Divorce agreements are state issues.
  3. I don't think you have to ever worry about the I-864 obligations...ever.
  4. So, your I-864 is unrelated to the current divorce support agreement. To terminate the agreement, between you and the US government, convince her to naturalize. Good luck.
  5. The law is that you have 10 days to register a new address.
  6. Irrelevant. You must register YOUR address after a move. Your attorney should know this.... You can't use your attorney's address as YOUR address.
  7. No, no, no.. You must register YOUR mailing and physical address every time you move.....that is the LAW!!! Your attorney should have known this.
  8. OK. This thread just got a LOT more interesting!!! 😀
  9. Based on a actual court order? The I-864 is an agreement between you and the US government...not between you and your ex.
  10. I have seen someone do this. I'm sure it depends on the local ASC policy.
  11. Income claimed on a 1040 is not the same as Social Security Administration work credit. The IRS and Social Security Administration are different agencies.
  12. An attorney can challenge anything. I think your winning would be an extremely long shot. Never heard of anyone being forced to naturalize.
  13. You are obligated until one of the following happens: 1. She becomes a US citizen. 2. She accumulated 40 quarters of work credit. 3. She leaves the US and loses her legal staus. 4. Dies. It is in your best interest that she becomes US citizen ASAP.
  14. She has to accumulate 40 quarters of work credit.
  15. OK. Makes sense. Just thought I'd ask.
  16. We get a lot of Pakistan related questions. Any plans to create a Pakistan regional forum at some point? Just a thought.
  17. It isn't criticism. It's an observation after being here on VJ for 7 years. You are free to accept or ignore the advice of members.
  18. I would be more concerned with what US immigration officials understand.
  19. Terminology is important in immigration. Using the term "wife" implies marriage. The CO needs only suspicion that a secret marriage has taken place to immediately disqualify a couple from a K-1. It would a shame to get a denial at the interview stage. @JeanneAdil is pretty familiar with MENA countries and their culture.
  20. Yep. Typical liberal group think: Do what feels good, but give no thought to practicality, consequences, or method.
  21. At this point, I wouldn't withdraw the K-1 either. This is not the place for me to argue the other points you claim...😀
  22. The only effect will be that you will have to prove you still have domicile in the US or you intend to re-locate back to the US. You also have to show current US based income and/or assets.
