  1. ****@Steph & Sara, please do not post duplicate threads. One duplicate removed****
  2. The consulate will contact you to schedule.
  3. K-1 More expensive than CR-1 Requires Adjustment of Status after marriage (expensive and requires a lot of paperwork) Spouse can not leave the US until she/he receives approved Advance Parole (approx 6-8 months) Spouse can not work until she/he receives EAD (approx 6-8 months) Some people have had problems with driver licenses, Social Security cards, leases, bank account during this period Spouse will not receive Green Card for many months after Adjustment of Status is filed. A K-1 might be a better choice when 18-21 year old children are immigrating also In some situations, marriage can affect certain Home country benefits, making a K-1 a better choice A denied K-1 is sent back to USCIS to expire CR-1 Less expensive than K-1 No Adjustment of Status(I-485, I-131, I-765) required. Spouse can immediately travel outside the US Spouse is authorized to work immediately upon arrival. Spouse receives Social Security Card and Green Card within 2 or 3 weeks after entering the US Opening a bank account, getting a driver's license, etc. are very easily accomplished with GC, SS card, and passport. Spouse has legal permanent Resident status IMMEDIATELY upon entry to US.
  4. Hopefully, you'll get a fast N-400 interview & approval. I suggest you file online under the 5 year rule. It's pretty straightforward.
  5. You could have possibly applied when first becoming eligible about 4 years ago. You probably would have been a citizen years ago. File under the 5-year rule.

  7. Thanks for the info. You can compare here. Compare Passports Power | Passport Index 2023
  8. I think it is. After 40 months of waiting for the I-751 to be approved, my wife filed her N-400. 4 months later, BOTH the I-751 and N-400 were approved.
  9. My wife thought about whether to naturalize for quite some time before deciding. I think the political tension in a certain part of the world swayed her decision to a degree.
  10. Just let it ride until you get ready to submit the I-130. Then, you can send a withdrawal letter along with the I-130.
  11. Please ask your questions in this thread instead of starting a new one concerning Utah Zoom Marriages and proxy marriages. All "Utah Zoom Marriage" type marriages in all states require meeting to consummate the marriage before filing the I-130. You cannot get around the requirement to meet before filing.
  12. Nope. You are going to make an extremely critical mistake. This is basic stuff. As I said, you MUST meet after the ceremony...BEFORE you submit the I-130.. Otherwise, the marriage will not be recognized by USCIS. You need to do more research.
  13. Make sure you physically meet after the marriage BEFORE filing the I-130. The marriage will not be recognized until you are together after the marriage ceremony.
  14. I found one for next week in the Dallas County Passport Office- East Office. I scheduled it this past Saturday. Most offices around here are booked solid 4 weeks out. It's just crazy.
  15. You make a good case. I think LPRs from countries which don't allow dual citizenship would make up the vast majority. In fact, I can think of no others.
  16. Who would be in that category? People who are from countries which do not allow dual citizenship? Anyone else?
  17. I wish I had looked a couple weeks ago. Passport appointments are scarce around here. Most acceptance centers are booked solid 4 weeks out. Yesterday, I got lucky and found one a week after her oath.
  18. Hopefully, my wife can beat that one. We have an appointment for her passport on Feb 3rd.
  19. I think this proves my wife is a trend setter. Look at the last line of my signature...😁
  20. There has never been any hope of improvement. I-751s have never been mentioned in any of those projected improved targets. The I-751 remains a cash cow for USCIS, allowing them to collect the client's money, sit on it, get MORE money for the N-400.....then process both at a combo interview. At least this 48 month letter allows most folks to have evidence of LPR status longer before having to get an infopass appointment.
