  1. Nothing wrong at all. As I, in my United States Air Force days, always said, "Over-prepared is FULLY PREPARED".
  2. The petitioner (your spouse) is always the primary sponsor. The primary sponsor, as well as the joint sponsor, must complete an I-864. Unless you have exceptional circumstances, you will not be eligible for Direct Consular Filing.
  3. We couldn't upload anything for the I-751. I took all the new & updated evidence dating from I-751 submission to date of combo interview with me . My wife's case is different from your case since you are filing under the 3 year rule.
  4. I guess you could do that, but you take a risk if you do. Some consulates are known to just sit on passports....while the clock is ticking I would travel to the US prior to the interview, then return for the interview, visa issuance, final departure. Just my opinion.
  5. Great points!!! Many, many, many people would jump at a chance to travel within 15 days. By all means, make sure he arrives BEFORE that visa expires.
  6. I have learned a lot since then....LOL. Hopefully, I can help others avoid this costly mistake (costly in terms of money, time, stress).
  7. Other than the documents required, I uploaded my wife's 5 years of tax transcripts and a letter requesting a combo interview. Since this was a combo interview, I took a lot of evidence for the I-751 part of the interview with me (didn't upload this stuff).
  8. Want to hear something wild? My wife entered the US via her Cr-1 visa 30 days short of our 2 year anniversary. We made a BIG mistake!! The CBP officer even mentioned it at POE.
  9. Yep. The 48 month extension letters will certainly help. But Removal of Conditions still requires a lot of pre-planning, saving a lot of evidence, extra fees, and general stress....
  10. No. Once you enter the US via a spousal visa, your visa will be stamped (endorsed) by CBP. The endorsed visa serves as a temporary Green Card for a year. Your plastic Green Card then overrides the stamp.
  11. One more thing. The I-751 fee is going way up, if I remember correctly.
  12. Agree. I, too, think it is important that people know CBP has no say in determining 2 year card or 10 year card.
  13. For immigrant visas, NVC schedules the visa interview, but the applicant schedules his/her own medical exam.
  14. My wife's visa expiration date was 5 months after the medical exam. I'm not sure why. Normally, the visa expiration will be 6 months from completion of the medical. All immigrant visa medical exams are valid for only 6 months.
  15. The date of issue is not connected to the expiration date of the visa. The visa expiration date is tied directly to the date of the medical exam which is normally done prior to the interview..
  16. They were correct. CBP doesn't determine which Green card is issued....but sometimes, they will stamp IR instead of CR.
  17. The extension letter will be sent to you immediately after filing an I-751. Getting an ADIT (after extension letter expires), entails calling USCIS, convincing them to grant you an appointment, them going to a USCIS office to ask for the stamp. Recently, numerous people have reported being refused an appointment. It's a mess. The new 48 month extension letters will help. But extension letters are only good when employers, airlines, etc understand that they legally extend the Green Card expiration date.
  18. Keep in mind that your visa, after being issued, will expire 6 months after the date of your medical exam (or even earlier).
  19. Yep. My wife's I-751 extension letter extended the date on her Green Card by 24 months. We had to get an ADIT stamp at USCIS to enable her to travel internationally in 2021. Had she not submitted an N-400, the I-751 would still be pending now, imo.
  20. I can testify that Removal of Conditions is a real pain in the neck. However, the new 48 month extension letters will help. Personally, I would try to enter the US after 2 years of marriage.
  21. Pretty shameful for them to just sit on our money with no action. Take a look at these numbers from the last qtr of FY 2022. They are really pushing N-400 processing: N-400s Received During the Qtr: 194,819 N-400s Processed During the Qtr: 323,793 N-400s Still Pending: 543,838 At that rate, there soon won't be a backlog of N-400s.
  22. Your USC girlfriend needs to join us here because EVERYTHING starts with her.
