  1. "Recently" might not be accurate. A few years ago, we missed a flight transiting through Canada on the way to Taiwan because my wife (Green Card holder then) didn't have an electronic transit document.....and it took 2 days to get it. They changed the law (as you pointed out a couple years ago).
  2. I guarantee you there are more people wanting to come to the US than those who are leaving. Just check the visa bulletin. Matters not where you live as a US citizen or Green Card holder. You must report all world-wide income and pay US taxes. If you renounce US citizenship, you will pay BIG TIME...
  3. Are you sure about that? Until recently, Canda required even green card holders to obtain a transit visa.
  4. Nope. Nothing in immigration is fast. There are a LOT of people already in line.
  5. Same here. I merely pass along the things I have learned spending a LOT of time reading VJ over the last 7 years.
  6. The immigration process requires a great deal of knowledge, Planning, time, patience, and money. A shortfall in any area can cause delays, more agony, and heartbreak.
  7. CURRENT annual income is king....not what was earned in previous years, unless he is self-employed.
  8. A K-1 visa is going to take, roughly, the same amount of time as a spousal visa. That, along with the other benefits, is why I suggest a spousal visa.
  9. Some of us have been around here for a while. Your situation is quite common. Unfortunately, your plan is flawed. Spending more time together is beneficial for multiple reasons. However, meeting inside the US is not likely, and a CR-1 spousal visa is a better option, imo.
  10. That would indicate immigrant intent. ...the very thing which could disqualify her.
  11. Consulate Officer are not required to even look at her evidence. In fact, we see that quite a lot. Her situation is a textbook case of what Consulate Officers are trained to deny. But, it's your money. She is free to apply. Just expect to waste a lot of time. I have already given you my advice. Good luck.
  12. Every person who applies to visit the US is already assumed to have intent to stay and adjust status. Consulate Officers, by law, must reject those who cannot show very strong to home country. Right now, the wait time to get a visitor visa interview is 144 days.
  13. She will not get a B2 visa. My advice: Marry, meet outside the US, then start the spousal visa process. Every couple has their own priorities, and each couple must decide which visa is better for their situation. K-1 More expensive than CR-1 Requires Adjustment of Status after marriage (expensive and requires a lot of paperwork) Spouse can not leave the US until she/he receives approved Advance Parole (approx 6-8 months) Spouse can not work until she/he receives EAD (approx 6-8 months) Some people have had problems with driver licenses, Social Security cards, leases, bank account during this period Spouse will not receive Green Card for many months after Adjustment of Status is filed. A K-1 might be a better choice when 18-21 year old children are immigrating also In some situations, marriage can affect certain Home country benefits, making a K-1 a better choice A denied K-1 is sent back to USCIS to expire CR-1 Less expensive than K-1 No Adjustment of Status(I-485, I-131, I-765) required. Spouse can immediately travel outside the US Spouse is authorized to work immediately upon arrival. Spouse receives Social Security Card and Green Card within 2 or 3 weeks after entering the US Opening a bank account, getting a driver's license, etc. are very easily accomplished with GC, SS card, and passport. Spouse has legal permanent Resident status IMMEDIATELY upon entry to US.
  14. If your income from current job will not continue after arriving in the US, then your income is $0. If that is the case, you will need a joint sponsor or sufficient assets.
  15. Celexa is a commonly prescribed drug. It is an SSRI. That, alone, is no reason for concern.
  16. Nice edit to your original post. You just have to wait for them to reschedule. Nothing else can be done.
  17. "My current green card will expire in July 2023.". We cannot give accurate answers when people give inaccurate information! Details matter.
  18. Personally, I would amend the taxes. Form 1065 specifically asks about foreign partners.
  19. My wife never had any document section for her I-751 on the USCIS site. The N-400 had all uploaded documents. It could be just a glitch in their system.
  20. Some people think they must have an ADIT stamp to maintain status. That isn't the case.
  21. More Biden lies and lack of judgement exposed. "Shoot First, Ask Questions Later!" The Biden Balloon Debacle🎈 - YouTube
  22. I wouldn't put any faith in that estimate. Dallas office says 15.5 months. My wife filed N-400 in Aug 2022. She took the oath and became a citizen only 5 months later.
