  1. We had prepared for a combo interview since my wife's I-751 was pending, Then, 2 days before the appointment, we received an email from the field office which instructed me to be there with my wife. It used the term "combination interview". I would certainly prepare for I-751 questions.
  2. A Spousal Visa is just as fast, and is far, far superior to a fiance visa. K-1 More expensive than CR-1 Requires Adjustment of Status after marriage (expensive and requires a lot of paperwork) Spouse can not leave the US until she/he receives approved Advance Parole (approx 6-8 months) Spouse can not work until she/he receives EAD (approx 6-8 months) Some people have had problems with driver licenses, Social Security cards, leases, bank account during this period Spouse will not receive Green Card for many months after Adjustment of Status is filed. A K-1 might be a better choice when 18-21 year old children are immigrating also In some situations, marriage can affect certain Home country benefits, making a K-1 a better choice A denied K-1 is sent back to USCIS to expire CR-1 Less expensive than K-1 No Adjustment of Status(I-485, I-131, I-765) required. Spouse can immediately travel outside the US Spouse is authorized to work immediately upon arrival. Spouse receives Social Security Card and Green Card within 2 or 3 weeks after entering the US Opening a bank account, getting a driver's license, etc. are very easily accomplished with GC, SS card, and passport. Spouse has legal permanent Resident status IMMEDIATELY upon entry to US.
  3. Try going back to read what I was addressing. Thanks.
  4. Protect yourself (and your child) both physically and legally through a good divorce attorney.
  5. ***Moved to the Philippines regional forum**** I would proceed with EXTREME caution.
  6. Yep. Not really clear. Sadly, they sometimes leave things to interpretation. Thanks.
  7. Chapter 2 - Signatures | USCIS "Unacceptable - Signature created by a typewriter, word processor, stamp, auto-pen, or similar device[9]"
  8. Please link the instructions which state a digital signature is allowed.
  9. You just have to wait until your case reaches the front of the queue at NVC for your consulate. Your DQ date is what is relevant. You can check other member timelines here on VJ. That might give you an idea of the average time between DQ and interview. You can also ask in your country's regional forum. Welcome to VJ, the best source for immigration information. Good luck.
  10. See the timeline in my signature. I uploaded a request letter when submitting the N-400 online. 2 days before the scheduled N-400 interview, we received an email informing us that it would be a combo. Was it a result of the request letter? I'm not sure.
  11. OK. Great. Good luck. Be prepared for questions concerning the separate living conditions.
  12. @Tommy john, please clarify: did you file a joint I-751 with your wife? Are you filing under the 3 year rule?
  13. @Mike E might have some useful info.
  14. I have seen RFEs, but never a denial.
  15. You do not need a police report from the US. USCIS will run background checks as part of the process.
  16. Is college the only reason you are living apart? I seem to remember your posts back in November 2021. The Immigration Officer is likely to grill you about living apart and such infrequent time together. I would have contacted an attorney long ago. Good luck.
  17. ***Moved to US Citizenship General Discussion**** Please do not re-post.
  18. She can change her name as part of becoming a US citizen. The N-400 application will ask if she wants to change her name.
  19. You won't have to give your card back until the oath date. Just ask to be scheduled for the oath ceremony after you return.
