  1. I read, on a FB Passport group, that they are going to increase the times again later this week. It's crazy, crazy.
  2. ***Moved to the Canada regional forum for country specific information***
  3. Montreal is the only option. It is tough.....and agonizing. The immigration process requires a great deal of knowledge, planning, time, patience, and money. A failure in any of those area can result in delays and problems.
  4. ***Moved to the UK regional forum as this thread concerns UK tourist visas****
  5. You cannot enter the US via an F-1 with the intent to stay and adjust status. That is visa fraud. That is visa FRAUD!!!!
  6. He needs to file for emergency Advance Parole. Emergency Travel | USCIS
  7. Once you enter the US with a valid spousal visa, your passport will be stamped. That stamp serves as a full-fledged Green Card until the plastic one arrives. You can exit and re-enter the US weeks or months later using it.
  8. It will not if the denial was due to lack of ties to home country (which is why the vast, vast, vast majority are denied). A B2 denial, in itself, is not an issue.
  9. A B2 denial would have no impact on a K-1.
  10. Passport Delivered!!!! That is the final step in wife's immigration process!!! IT IS FINISHED!!!!!
  11. Those are good. The Consulate Officer will consider the situation and make a decision. However, the CO is under no obligation to review additional documents. Good luck.
  12. Upset at the mention of a lawyer? You are mistaken. We have seen this situation many, many times. The fact is that an attorney cannot help in this situation. By law, anyone applying for a tourist visa is ALREADY assumed to have intent to stay illegally inside the US. Not being able to support oneself during the visit is just one of the red flags in this case. Why should he return to PI after the visit? That is the huge obstacle he faces. It only costs someone $160 to apply.
  13. Feb 6 submission to March 20 shipping....6 weeks They say 5-7 weeks is the standard for expedited service.
  14. Update: Wife's Passport status changed to "Shipped" yesterday. Express Mail package out for delivery today......😃
  15. 1. No. There is no requirement to report a new passport to USCIS. 2. No. You need a valid passport and your Green Card to travel. You don't need to carry the expired one.
  16. Yes. The Green Card serves as evidence of your status as a legal resident.
  17. You won't need an AP document or an EAD. A Green Card, alone, allows you to work and leave/re-enter the US.
  18. Adjustment of Status More expensive than CR-1 Spouse can not leave the US until she/he receives approved Advance Parole (approx 6-8 months) Spouse can not work until she/he receives EAD (approx 6-8 months) Some people have had problems with driver licenses, Social Security cards, leases, bank account during this period Spouse will not receive Green Card for many months after Adjustment of Status is filed. CR-1 Less expensive than AOS No Adjustment of Status(I-485, I-131, I-765) required. Spouse can immediately travel outside the US Spouse is authorized to work immediately upon arrival. Spouse receives Social Security Card and Green Card within 2 or 3 weeks after entering the US Opening a bank account, getting a driver's license, etc. are very easily accomplished with GC, SS card, and passport. Spouse has legal permanent Resident status IMMEDIATELY upon entry to US.
  19. How do you propose to overcome the requirement of non-immigrant intent?
  20. I strongly suggest a plan B. I place his chance at 0%.
