  1. Marrying while inside the US as a visitor, then leaving is fine. However, entering the US as a visitor with the intent to stay and adjust status is fraud. Your spouse can file the I-130 any time after marriage and receiving the marriage certificate. Seems you will not have a job. That might raise questions at POE.
  2. Agree. Applying under the 5 rule. This won't be an issue. I find it odd that a petitioner, who was required to provide a LOT of evidence to prove the authenticity of a marriage, would implicate himself in fraud.....😃 @Kadija Chicago, don't worry about him. Good luck on your citizenship journey.
  3. Drive-Thru???? That's wild!!!!!! (In my wife's ceremony, there were 1,000 new citizens naturalized).
  4. It's been 9 years. You have to reapply from scratch with a new N-400. You may or may not be qualified to apply for citizenship now.
  5. Thanks. I live in the Dallas area, but I am a native of Arkansas. The passport was shipped from Hot Springs (which really surprised me). Hope you get the passport soon. Believe me, it feels great to be completely finished with the immigration process. Good luck.
  6. Status changed to "in progress" on 3/4. Status changed to "Shipped" on 3/20. Passport arrived on 3/21. Took exactly 6 weeks from date of application (2/6) to the date it shipped (3/20) from Hot Springs, Arkansas. Locator 79.
  7. As the late, great VJ member, @geowrian once said, "USCIS is like a huge grocery store. Some lines are faster than others".
  8. The BEST thing they could do is just to eliminate the I-751 completely. Make all GCs expire in 10 years.
  9. What problems? The 48 month extension letter (which has your A Number) along with an expired GC is your evidence of legal status. Your A Number is in their system. Once you get back to the US POE, you will be allowed to enter.
  10. Op has already filed 2022 taxes. Thus, 2022 is most recent tax year filed. That's the one I would use.
  11. I could be mistaken. Could have been a couple weeks or so. I also filed thru my CPA.
  12. 1. If you can't wait, submit a copy of the complete filed 1040 package (including schedules, W-2s, 1099s) for tax year 2022 instead of a transcript. 2. Return Transcript. Note: My transcript was available in a week or so.
  13. I saw another similar case a couple weeks ago. This would be great if USCIS makes this their standard. Thanks for sharing this good experience.
  14. She was here 2 and a half years????!!!!!!!! LOL!!!!!!!! Her chances of any appeal are zero, imho. She could have left LONG before she did. Looks like she has an overstay of about 2 years and a 10 year ban. Her excuse just doesn't add up, IMO.
  15. You last request was denied, correct? Personally, I would be on the next flight out. Good luck. I wish the very best for you and your family.
  16. It would be nice to have a timeline (dates) of entry and exit. How long did she overstay?
  17. Their instructions are clear that binders and such are a no-no.
  18. "“Parents must accrue 2 years of legal and physical custody and obtain a full, final adoption of the child to be eligible to file a Form I-130." I see this as the issue as presented so far. At some point, an I-130 will be appropriate.
