If I wasn't an engineer and was able to express myself better, I would write a book about the past 3 years of my life.
I decided the summer of 2003 to take a year off from college and live in Spain. ( I really wanted to travel and learn Spanish). I was living in Madrid, on a tight budget and would often eat at the Kebab restaurants because they were cheap. My flatmate at the time told me about this great place where they made great falafel and gave you free tea and frech fries. Hey I know a bargain when I hear one, so I sent with her. That is when I met Hareth, the bartender/cook who worked there. He was really nice and his English wasn't bad. We hung out for a while and he made fun of me. The next time we met was in Sol, near the McDonalds. I guess you could call this our first date...he bought be an ice cream cone...and the rest is history. We fell in love and found that we had alot in common. It was a beautiful 8 month romance, but then I had to go back and finish school. We said our goodbyes, but it wasn't long (2 months) before I was back there visiting. I flew back to Spain about 8 times before I graduated. ( I am amazed I did graduate because I did miss about 1 week each quarter). We had talked about getting married after I graduated and starting a family. A few months later we got pregnant. I returned to the states to be with my family during my final trimester at in November at 8 months pregnant I applied for his fiance visa. Our son Zaid was born this past December and we received his NOA2 February 22. He has his interview July 5th and hopefully all goes well and we can be together as a family before the summer ends.
