Hello!
I am trying to evaluate my wife's diploma, through WES, however they require a copy sent from ministry of education in russia. And ministry of education russia wants original diploma, she got the diploma less than 2 years ago, I'm not gonna fedex that document around the world.
Any other choices?
Thanks!

On the SS card is says With Authorization.
Now... we can go and change that, just show green card?
Is this required, what if we don't go?

So we just came back from the interview in Garden City, NY.
We got seated in the office. My wife needed an interpreter, through the speaker the special assigned interpreter helped her.
Well here are the questions we were asked.
1. Your wife's/husband's brother/sister names? What they do?
2. Asked me wife's mother's name...
3. asked my wife, address.
4. When she arrived into the US? But she asked it in a tricky way.
5. She asked her when we got married.
6. All NO questions.
7. Asked where we got married? I said vegas. She said why? I said get away from NY style.
Documents asked...
1. Copy of my passport or birth certificate/naturizalation paper...
2. Proof we live together, I gave them my bank account statement and health insurance statement
3. Marriage photos (she took 2). She asked photos from russia, but we didn't have any really because my wife gave them away in russia.
4. Marriage certificate (certified) - showed and she gave back. And she wanted a photo copy of it.
5. Aked for an employment letter, I didn't have it, instead gave her 5 pay stubs (you need to give 2 montths worth). I think she took that.
6. Doctor's letter from vaccinations. She opened I believe and read it.
7. She didn't ask for my 2006 tax return (I submitted mine for AOS), I Believe they already had it.
8. Both of our passports.
Where did you get a doctor's letter regarding her vaccinations? From your regular doctor or immigration doctor??

With this 1 year authorization, now we can change the Social Security to one that doesn't say with "Authorization"? Or it will be another SS card with 1 year stamped on it..? Should wait till the green card arrives?
-
Saying ... Current Status: Card production ordered.
Is that good? How long does this authorization work?
Our AOS interview is in 2 weeks.
Thanks!

Hi my wife got here through K1 visa and after now 5 months, it is going to be our first interview for residence. I was wondering what should I expect? Will will be interviewed seperately? My wife english level is like low-medium. She can understand everything basic and speak basic, but techno jumble, she doesn't understand. She should she get a translator? What should I bring?
Thanks!!!

After your fingerprints/biometrics you will either get the green card or a notice to appear for an interview.
OUr interview notice came in less than a month after the biometrics were taken.
What about work authorization?
-
On the tracking site, touch date was today.. so whats next? how long of a wait?
-
Hi, my wife is coming from the K1 visa. Does she need a medical exam before the biometrics?????
Thanks!

Delivered, February 19, 2007, 8:42 pm, CHICAGO, IL 60680
Question, why would it be delivered 8:42pm ? Is this normal?
-
My attorney submitted AOS documents for K1 visa to Chicago, IL office. What should I expect, how long, etc?
Does it matter?
Btw, how will I Able to track the status?

Anyway to get around customs and ship jewelry to russia?

The notation on the SSA card indicates that DHS authorization is required, that is what EAD is. Without EAD the SSA card is not valid.
SO the card is useless, can I use it for banks? etc, state id?
Evaluating my wife's diploma (WES)

The issue is that WES doesn't accept anything from russian schools anymore, only from ministry of education in russia. And russian ministry of education can only verify by sending them the original diploma by fedex/dhl and praying it comes back
