  1. Hello - I'm just writing a review on my interview in San Bernardino.

We arrived at the office which was very nice. They took our interview letter and we were called in shortly after.

The interview took about 1 hour. That's right ladies and gentlemen. An entire hour. The officer was friendly but asked a lot of questions. It was nothing like most of the interviews that I've read up on the board before, it was much more through. He said he asks the same questions from all couples.

He told us since we had only been married three months that he didn't expect us to have a ton of joint assets.

Questions started with verifying my personal information. My name, address, parents name, place of birth. Then he asked my husband if he still wanted to sponsor me. He asked him if he ever thought I was marrying him for immigration purposes. Lol! Like really - I'm Canadian!!!

She asked me if my husband ever kept my immigration documents from me. LOL! Then he asked us a number of questions on our joint assets because we only have one shared checking account. Since i didn't have my social yet, it's still being processed. She asked us if we had me on the house title, life insurance or car insurance and really went into my husbands assets.

He was nice and professional and even funny though the interview. Then he asked us how we met, when we decided we were exclusive, how he proposed, when he proposed, how we decided where I would live. Then asked us when we knew we were right for each other. He asked us about trips we had taken together. Any social media examples of our relationship - my Facebook pages really helped!

I don't think we had enough evidence of joint assets but it didn't really impact our interview. I had a lot of evidence that I had compiled for the K1, all our hotel receipts, boarding passes, wedding dress receipts, ring receipts, wedding invitation, lots of photos showing the progress of our relationship. Bottom line is a real couple should have no problem with this interview and I've got my GC just in time for my religious wedding in Canada!

  2. Hello - I can't seem to find the person who posted about the 4 weeks for SSN. It happened to me too, they said they could not find me in the system. Not sure why.

Also for those wondering about RFIE and EAD/AP, I got an RFIE, sent a response immediately and had my EAD/AP approved 13 days later and also received my card 3 days after the approval. A Combo.

My RFIE was an error on Form I-864 and they wanted our 1040 for 2014 OR 2015.

  3. I've been reading some people asking about if an RFIE delays the EAD/AP process.

I got a RFIE 14 days after my biometrics for the I-864 form, we calculated household size incorrectly and did not provide a full 2014 tax return. We were asked to submit the corrected form and also the 1060 for either 2014 or 2015. We sent in both plus my husbands savings account balance for the last six months.

My EAD/AP was approved in 68 days, almost 2 weeks before the projected completion so there was not a delay. I think is just depends, there are no rules. I am just so thankful.

Now I'm just waiting on the I-485 - that might have been delayed because of the RFIE.

    Here is my timeline:

  4. Sweet hallelujah!!!! I just got texts/emails from USCIS that my EAD and AP have been approved. Got the EAD text/email then an hour later the AP. This means I can attend my bachlorette in Toronto and I don't need to have it moved to Buffalo.

MOST OF ALL I can attend my wedding ceremony in July stress free! This makes up for all the stress of having to miss the ceremony. I am just so happy. When I got our RFIE I was so upset and today I am just relieved. Thanks for all the good vibes and moral support on VJ - I don't know what I would have done.

I also just had recruiter submit my resume for a job! Super excited. Just to happy and sending all my good vibes to you all!

  5. IPod - sad to hear that you got another RFIE. I guess it's good that they're working on your file. I hope they get your approvals quickly.

I sent in my information to USCIS and now I am waiting. I really need that AP card by June 8th or my stag is going to be moved to Buffalo...LOL.

  6. Hahaha, these forums are a blessing and a curse. My husband just finished telling me to stop coming on here because I'm driving myself mad. See, I lived in Toronto and stupidly thought I could get away without ever having to get my driver's license. A decision I very much regret now that I am in NJ suburbia. I'm in Monmouth County, in Hazlet. About 45 minutes outside of NYC! (One of the major positives haha).

Lol! I am also unemployed and going buts on these forums, my husband is like get off it. We have our wedding (ceremony) planned in Canada in July...I am having nightmares of missing the wedding, which can't happen. I sent in my evidence for our RFIE...it was a silly mistake on a form plus my husband insisted on not sending in his 1040 for 2014 (sent TurboTax form instead) so we needed to send a full tax return.

Otherwise I'm happy so many people are getting approved. Please send me your good karma over here!

I am not trying to gloat or rub this in anybody's faces but I thought I would give an update so you know what to expect as far as USCIS updates. My wife's AOS was approved this past Friday and today got an update that the card was mailed today. I had seen other posts that the site provides a tracking number but there isn't on listed.

Again, not to gloat or anything, I know the frustration some of you are feeling, I sat in TSC hell for 7 months last year without a word.

No! This is great news, not gloating! You should celebrate.

  7. Great news for everyone! Green cards printing, twins! Wow.

Okay I need your help! I got my RFE today...super sad, as I have a wedding planned for July and a stag in June in Toronto! I am hoping we make it. Basically spent all last week in tears waiting for the RFE, your VJ wisdom and help is greatly appreciated.

The RFE is related to our tax returns. It states that the we need a COMPLETE Federal Tax return submitted to the IRS for the most recent tax year. It has it written 2014 or 2015 1040.

Basically - I want to know what people submitted for their tax returns? And if anyone knows what is meant by complete tax return. I thought we had submitted a complete one but was wrong.

    Thanks for your help everyone.

  8. I'm very upset - just got a RFE via text. My religious wedding ceremony is July 9th in Canada and I'm not sure how long the delays are after an RFE. I suspect that the RFE is tax related but my husband makes 5 times the USCIS income. I'm just waiting for the paper copy.

Does anyone know from experience or looking at January how long the delay is with an RFE?

I am probably going to miss my stagette in Toronto. So sad today.

    Applied February 12th

  9. ^^ Haha I know he's a funny guy.

And yeah I picked up the fact that a lot of people are from Canada, but it's difficult moving to another country regardless.

Hehehe - totally true. To be honest I've been a working woman for about 7 years and I am kinda enjoying just lounging around, cooking for my husband and hanging out with nephews. I know I will never get a break like this again. I do get bored sometimes but I am working out, cooking and studying! I feel lucky. I know that I won't even get this time to myself again - no 1 year mat leave here :-(

I think the difficulty for me moving here has been the politics kinda, and culture. Its different to Canada! But the sunny cali weather makes up for that.

  10. I am really liking this forum - everyone is so supportive.

I got my biometrics notice on Friday appointment is March 17th, 2016!
